Hindi TV Serial - Ballika Vadhu - Marriage of Anandi and Shiv happens, his sister not at all happy

Ballika Vadhu seems to have been inspired by the other serial that focuses on values and tradition, 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain' and has been showing the traditions over a number of episodes. So, the marriage events that happen in the marriage of Shiv and Anandi have been shown in great detail, enough that I have forgotten when these series of episodes started. First the marriage, the house leaving of Anandi and her arrival in the new house with a number of episodes. However, not everything is fine. Even though the entire household of Shiv is welcoming, his sister Sanchi is not at all welcoming since she considers that her brother has married a rural behanji and not somebody hip. So, as a result, Sanchi acts very snide and does activities that causes her family great embarrassment.
When they are at her house, there Sanchi does a playact, where she takes up Anandi's past and causes her family to be very angry at her. They warn her that she better behave better, but Sanchi still continues on this same way. Her father takes her aside and warns her, her grand-father gives up in frustration. For example, when Anandi reaches Shiv's house, it is Sanchi who is supposed to welcome her to the house, but she takes her own time to come to the reception.
Things get more problematic at the function held at Shiv's house where Sanchi is getting frustrated and tells her friends about her frustrations, and when they don't seem to find any problems, she tells them about the history of Anandi. This is picked up by other ladies who over-hear Sanchi and have a lot of words with Shiv's family as they are shocked that Shiv married a divorcee, and then say that they will not attend the function and take part in the celebrations.
So, even though the rest of the family is very comfortable with the choice of Shiv, since they consider Anandi to be a very suitable daughter-in-law, and don't feel that Shiv made any sort of compromise, they do realize that they will face problems from time to time in terms of people pointing out that Shiv married a divorcee.

Hindi TV Serial - Ballika Vadhu - Jagya finally manages to come back in the house

Things are getting more complicated on the show. With Anandi due to get married to Shivam, his Choti Ma does not like the fact that she is a divorcee and is also unhappy over the fact that Jagya is also there in the village. She has been mollified by telling her that Jagya is no longer part of the family and his actions have been condemned by everybody in the family. Anandi is also not soft towards him, but her natural tendencies is not to be harsh towards anyone, or to think badly of anybody, and hence she does not even understand all the motives of Jagya.
Jagya has been very angry with the attitude of his family towards him, after all, he is the son of the family, and blames Anandi for whatever has happened to him from his family's side. He wants revenge, and they show him having a discussion with himself over what is the right way and what is the wrong way, and finally he agrees that he is the one who has been wronged, that Anandi is the one who has done this, and that he wants revenge.
So, first order is to ensure that he changes the attitude of people towards him. He admits that he assaulted a villager, agrees to work for him till he has undone the damage, and then in a series of remarkable events, ensures that the villagers now see him as a good guy. He also manages to ensure that his family finally forgives him, but Bhairon is not so happy over this, and Shiv does not want him to come anywhere near Anandi.
Now that Jagya has managed to come home, his next step is to ensure that the problems are all overcome, and the final problem is that Anandi is away from him, and he tells Dadisa that he wants Anandi back, and she is shocked at his statement, but will she support him ?

Hindi TV Serial - Balika Vadhu - Gauri getting a few setbacks, with eviction from her apartment and money cut off

The last few episodes have seen a major set of problems for Gauri and Jagya. Their landlord, who was very supportive of them, found out that Gauri was in fact the second woman when the first wife was still alive and there was no divorce, and she was shocked since she never knew about all of this. She decides to turn them out of the house, and as she explained, she was in a similar position where her husband had left her for another woman and she could never accept that somebody who put another lady in a bad position was occupying her apartment. In addition, she also learnt that they were married only for 1 year, while they were staying in her apartment pretending to be married for 2 years. Now, they had to find a new house which would cost more and which was also located some more distance away from the hospital.
They are also running out of money, and Gauri used to be getting money on a monthly basis for her education from her Bade Papa, but suddenly found that the money that was coming in was not there this month. After some amount of delay, she got in touch with her Bade Papa was in for a severe shock. He severely scolded her for the way that she was marrying somebody who was already married and who had left his earlier wife and not got divorced. And then he told her that the person who was actually supplying the money for education on a regular basis was actually Bhairon Singh, from the time when she was married off to Jagat in her childhood and then the marriage was broken.
Now, since her education is over, and she is also in such a condition, the money has been stopped; at this news that the money was coming in from Bhairon Singh, she wants to go to Jetsar.
In the haveli, there is a small amount of tension since Nandu is not listening to his mother, but instead is listening to Anandi more, and this makes Gehna uncomfortable.

Hindi TV Serial - Balika Vadhu - Jagya manages to rescue Anandi from the problem that she had got into

Anandi was in deep trouble. Some time back, she met a young guy called Shravan (with the attempt to show to the viewers of the serial that this was a possible love affair for her); but the intention was different. She was kidnapped by a guy called Heth Singh who wanted to take revenge for an insult to him, and Shravan was part of this kidnapping.
Part of the planning of the kidnapping was to show Anandi in a bad light, saying that since she was young, her husband had left her, she was feeling lonely and hence had decided to elope with Shravan. This will totally reduce the image of Anandi in everybody's mind. To increase this effect, soon after Anandi goes missing, Shravan's parents land up in the house moaning for their son who is missing; and later pretend that they have found out that Anandi has also gone missing, and start blaming Anandi for having mislead their honest son and run away with him. Other also hear this, and the news also reaches Gauri, who in her quest to put down Anandi tells Jagya that his former wife has run away, this is her character.
Jagya cannot believe this, and says that he will find Anandi. And you know that this will happen, so he is able to eventually locate where Anandi is located, sneak into the room where she was imprisoned (where she is somewhat in shock over one of the goons trying to molest her when she was tied up and helpless), and then run away when all the bad men are drunk, taking their own bike. He manages to eventually get Anandi back to the house after truck and bus ride, away from the goons, but the question will not go away; there will be a showdown over whether Anandi had run away (which a number of people in the village believe).

Hindi TV Serial - Pratigya - Sajjan Singh finally marries Ganga and brings her home

So the wily thakur finally does what he had wanted for some time. Ever since Sajjan Singh had got Ganga to the residence from her father (instead of the debts that he was owed), everybody in the family was somewhat unsure of his intentions. Amma was noticeably disturbed and tried her best to keep Sajjan Singh away from Ganga, and also otherwise ill-treated Ganga, scolding her and berating here wherever possible.
It was when Sajjan Singh came back after being kidnapped that he finally announced that he would marry Ganga and make her his second wife. This led to a huge upheaval in the house; Amma was shocked and planned with shakti to take away Ganga in the dead of night and leave her at her house; Komal told her father that he better not do anything that would embarrass the family and that he should not be thinking of marrying now that he had grand-children. Krishna and Pratigya also opposed this, and all this was making Sajjan get angry and start working out a plan. When Pratigya scared away the pandit who was supposed to be doing the marriage by claiming that he would assist in something illegal, it seemed over. And then Sajjan told everybody that he had understood, and that he would send Ganga back to her family - this finally made everybody relieved. However, Sajjan had other plans; he took Ganga out and got married to her and then brought her back.
So, now Ganga is in the house and nobody is happy. And Ganga has come back with a strong attitude, telling everybody that she is the younger thakurain of the house and everybody has to listen to her. She even tells Piyasiya to leave when she does not listen to Ganga, and Sajjan Singh backs her up.

Hindi TV Serial - Balika Vadhu - Shaking of the confidence that Gauri had in Jagya

The last couple of episodes in the serial have been pretty dramatic, with a number of confrontations and harsh words coming in. One of the biggest upsets that has happened in the meeting is the words that Bhairon spoke to Jagya and Gauri.
Gauri has been very confident that she is the legitimate wife of Jagya, and that Anandi was his past. She used this confidence to score points against Anandi a number of times, accusing Anandi of doing whatever she could to get Jagya back, and in the end, just before they leave the house, she accused Anandi of trying to become a doctor so that she can get Jagya back.
At this point, Bhairon could not hold himself anymore and jumps into the discussion. He makes it very clear to Jagya and Gauri about what the actual position in terms of law was. The position is that if a child marriage has happened, when the parties reach legal age, they have another 2 years to revoke the marriage, else it is considered valid. Since Jagya did not take any such step, his marriage with Anandi is the one valid marriage, and the marriage with Gauri is not valid.
Bhairon then made his most important point - that in terms of society and law, the only marriage that Jagya has had is with Anandi, and further, that if somebody marries when their first partner is still alive, then the person is subject to prosecution, and it was only Anandi who prevented Jagya from going to jail.
All this shook everybody in the house, but Gauri was one of the most shaken, since the very foundation of her confidence was shaken. Later, she is ready to kick Jagya out of her life, given the shock she has faced.
On the other hand, Dadisa faced a lot of pressure from people within the household over the action she has taken in trying to hold back Jagya in the house, and the impact this had on Anandi, especially when Anandi suddenly falls sick.

Hindi TV Serial - Ballika Vadhu - Anandi's parents come in to demand justice for their daughter

For some weeks now, there is an ongoing drama happening taking the presence of Jagya along with Gauri in the house, and the impact this has brought to the house and its inhabitants. There is a huge amount of unease, since nobody in the house has the ability to accept the presence of Jagya's new wife, given that his child bride of so many years, Anandi is in the house. Jagya has to be there since he is bankrupt, and is hoping to sway enough emotions that he starts getting accepted and get money; while Gauri brought him here since she is hoping to get accepted (more so since she was actually married to Jagya, but this marriage was not accepted and nullified by the Panchayat).
Dadisa tried to bring Jagya to a boil by encouraging him to stay in the house, she hopes that constant exposure to Anandi will make him realize what all Anandi has done for him, and also make him realize that he is wrong and go back to Anandi. However, the exposure of the fact that Jagya had given the family locket (which Dadisa had given to Dada long time back) as a bribe in order to get the registrar to accept his marriage to Gauri shocked Dadisa and everybody in the house. Dadisa gives Jagya some money and tells him that his leaving the house is better.
At the same time, Anandi's parents come to the house and confront the elders of the house for letting such things happen, for not taking care of the interests of Anandi. They also confront Jagya, since Anandi had done such a lot for Anandi, and this is how he repaid her. This was also done by Phooli earlier.
Gauri is shocked by everything that is happening, and starts to think that Anandi is causing all this to happen, in the hope that this will force Jagya to come back to Anandi, but also gets scolded by Anandi.

Hindi TV Serial - Balika Vadhu - Dadi Sa makes a plan to get Jagya see the error of his ways

So far the serial keeps on showing that the relationship between Jagya and Gauri has not been able to be dented by the threats and shouts of his family members. One possible option was that of going to court to declare the second marriage (to Gauri) illegal since the first marriage to Anandi was legal (it was a child marriage but was consumnated when Anandi was of legal age and Jagya never denied the marriage for many years when he was an adult (it was only when he fell in love with Gauri that he realized that he was forced into a child marriage and then started claiming that the marriage was illegal). The lawyer further claims that Jagya had made a legal error by not disclosing his marriage before the registrar and a case could be launched against him for that, something that only Anandi could do. Anandi obviously refuses to file such a case.
In the meantime, Dadi sa decides that the best way to try and force Jagya to change his stand was to force them to live in the house and get Gauri exposed to some of the harsh conditions in the house. So, Dadisa accepts Gauri, although the other house members look daggers at Gauri and do not accept her. Jagya's mother is the most vehement in her non-acceptance of Gauri. Gauri in turn is getting very frustrated over what is happening, and whenever any criticism happens, Jagya does not really support Gauri. In fact, once he tells her that when Anandi came to the house, she had to face a lot more problems and she was able to handle the situation with all the problems and frustrations.
The biggest problem for Jagya is that he is totally without any money and needs money to continue the studies and continue his marriage. Bhairon is totally unwilling to provide him this money while Dadisa keeps on pushing Jagya to talk to Bhairon for this.

Hindi TV Serial - Balika Vadhu - Marriage between Jagya and Gauri finally happens

A couple of episodes back, Gauri finally got to know that Jagya was married to Anandi and he was lying to her. She was in a state of shock when she got to know this and had traveled to Jagya's house; further, she also learnt that Jagya and his family was the same family to which she had been married off when she was a child, the family which also rejected the marriage and caused a huge amount of humiliation to the family of Gauri.
However, it was also true that both Jagya and Gauri loved each other a lot, and this love was strong enough that Jagya was able to convince Gauri that he only loved her, that the marriage to Anandi was a child marriage to which he had not say (which is actually morally right - except that he accepted the marriage when he came of age). She was so convinced that when her parents were somewhat uncomfortable with the thought of a marriage between Jagya and Gauri, she convinced them about the love between them. Further, the earlier marriages were child marriage and hence not legal, and that Gauri would be the legal wife of Jagya. Finally her parents agree to the marriage and it is decided that this would be a registered marriage.
Jagya has to pay a small bribe to the clerk at the registrar office so as to get the marriage ceremony done the next day instead of 30 days later, and finally the marriage happens. Gauri is determined to also go to Jagya's house and get their blessings, something that Jagya does not want to do. He has already broken relations with his family and knows that nothing good will come from going there; but they do go there just when a pooja is being finalized there for peace. When Jagya and Gauri enter there, Jagya gets the shock since he is slapped by his favorite relative, his grandmother.

Hindi TV Serial - Balika Vadhu - Gauri gets to know the entire truth, and confront Jagya

For many years now, there is an increasing closeness between the 2 students, Gauri and Jagya. As a result of being in the city, and also since he is now in love with Gauri, Jagya gets further and further away from Anandi. He is able to rationalize that nothing of all this is his fault, since he was married to Anandi when they were both very young, and as a result, he did not have a choice in the matter. He treated her like a friend, but this is his life now, his to choose, and he will not want to go back to the village and instead live in the city with his Gauri.
He is steadfast even when his own family confronts him, he has lost most of his older friends since he does not want to listen to the advice they give him. His own parents have lost all levels of confidence in him and his father has in fact decided to cut him off from all support (which means that Jagya is not able to get the money he requires for his education). His own Dadisa, who would support him to the greatest extent, also recognizes that her grandson is not in control anymore and decides to support Anandi in whatever she wants to do.
And then Gauri, finding some inconsistency in things that Jagya has told her, decides to visit his house and reaches there. In the village, she gets the first shock when she sees the girl introduced by Jagya as his cousin Nandini, and a village lady calls her Anandi, the wife of Jagya. And then she reaches the house and enters, and learns that this is the family of the boy to whom she was briefly married to, but the marriage did not proceed. She leaves quickly, and is in a state of shock.
When Jagya meets her, she lets fly at him, accusing him of lying to her consistently over the years, when he was married, treating her like a lover, and does not let him say anything.
