Hindi TV Serial - Housewife Hai...Sab Jaanti Hai - Light hearted look at a housewife in a joint family

Serials in the past (or even now) show problems where women in the house do not get enough education, or are looked down upon if they try to get a job. There are even serials shown where the husband feels that his wife is threatening his ability to earn for the family if the wife also wants to go and work. Once in a while a serial comes in that threatens to turn this whole thing around, such as this new serial on Zee called "Housewife Hai...Sab Jaanti Hai". This is the story of a joint family, run by the strong mother of the house, played by Himani Shivpuri. She has a number of sons, some of them adult, and hence, with the recent marriage, she has a new daughter-in-law, Sona, who would be earning the precious amount of Rs. 40,000 per month.
So, out of the 4 daughter in laws, Sona would earn the highest, and the only one who does not get as much respect as the others is Neelam bahu, who is a housewife and does not earn any money for the house. As a result, she has very little respect from the mother-in-law, and consequently from the others in the house, and does all the household work, being put under pressure every day to ensure that all the household work gets done. She has accepted this, with even her own husband not giving her much respect.
And then comes in the new bahu, earning an amount larger than the other bahus, and they feel that their position will be threatened. And then comes a shocker, with Sona stating that she will give up her job and work as a housewife in the house. Her mother-in-law is shocked, enough that it could have probably given her a heart attack; and then she decides to put pressure on preventing Sona from going ahead on her ridiculous idea.
First pressure is put on the police inspector Kanhaiya, who is the young son and also the husband of Sona, but Sona is mostly able to wrap him around her little finger, and he does not really do what his mother expected him to do. So, the other strategy is to show Sona what the housewife will need to do, especially when there is no gas in the house; in this case Sona gets helped by 2 other bahus since they would like her to not work and stay in the house in order to retain their positions of respect; when this gets to be known to the mother-in-law, she punishes those 2 bahus for their help.

Hindi TV Serial - Pavita Rishta - Finally catching up with Soham

After other matters in the serial have been resolved, it was the turn of Varsha and Soham to be found. Ever since some photos were seen which showed Varsha alive and present at the engagement of Arjun, there was a quest to actually find them. Archana was very anxious to find Soham, since she had always thought that Soham and Varsha was dead, and she had already got her other children back to her after the expose of Savita revealed that the separation of Archana from Manav was actually caused by Savita.
Finally they manage to catch up with Varsha, but she refuses to tell them anything about Soham or what has become of him. Then Varsha is tailed till she goes back to Bihar where Soham (now Vishnu) is revealed to have become a bahubali and is celebrating this. There Varsha and Balam claim that Soham was actually dead  when Varsha came there, and he has been dead for 18 years. However, Manav and Archana do not really believe this and talk to the neighbors who reveal that the photo of Soham that they are having is actually Vishnu (rather, only Archana knows this, not Manav).
Archana immediately goes to the stage where Soham is present, but he is scared to see her and wonders whether she has come there to arrest him, and puts a gun to her head and takes her off to the jungle. Manav chases them and when he sees an opportunity, he shoots Soham; Archana is distraught and tells Manav that Vishnu is actually their long lost son Soham. Manav is horrified and surrenders to the police.

Hindi TV Serials - Pavitra Rishta - Truth emerges about the role played by Savita

For a long time, there has been a lot about discussion about the various acts done by Savita in the serial, and the pressure that came upon Archana. Even 18 years ago, when Savita mis-communicated the correspondence between Archana and Manav when he was leaving for Canada, she did not carry the message to Archana that Manav was sending her the tickets. Further, she also told Manav something else which caused Manav to believe that Archana was not ready to go with him to Canada. Even after this, she also kept on pushing his children against Archana, and also totally pushed Sachin against Archana.
So when Manav finally met Archana, she was already under a lot of emotional pressure to listen to what Sachin was saying, especially since Sachin was pressuring her, backed up by Savita. Her children, Ovi and Teju, also believed that Archana had deserted them, and was just after Manav's money. So, when they get to know that Archana is their mother, they suddenly turn against her and she is badly hurt. Manav is already resigned to his divorce since he believes that Archana wants this divorce and wants alimony.
In the end, however, Teju overhears a conversation between Sachu and Savita which tells her that the signature on the divorce is not from Archana and then she tells Manav about all this, and then the truth comes out that it was Savita behind all this. Manav is furious, blaming Savita for keeping him away from his wife and his children away from their mother, and that he will now also keeps away from Savita to show her what this means.

Hindi TV Serials - Diya Aur Bati Hum - The truth about RK, and about Chaturi

The household is very confused since Chathuri has been missing for some time. It was in a skirmish with Meena that Chathuri fell down a cliff and ever since then Meena is very worried that she caused the death of Chaturi and somebody is going to hold her accountable. On the other hand, Sandhya is sure that there is some problem and that there are strange things going on. She was able to detect that there was an internet connection on somewhere in the vicinity while there is actually nobody nearby who has internet connectivity.
Further, RK is shown to be in cahoots with terrorists, up to some suspicious behavior. While Meena is worried about news of Chaturi, RK is trying to ensure that his deeds do not get caught. And then they show more complexity, where Sandhya and Bhabho want to leave for Chathuri's village to find out more news and Meena is trying to figure out how to stop them. And who helps Meena in this, it is Rajkumar who has Chathuri captured and who gets her to make a phone call where she tells them that everything is fine and that there is no need for anybody to come. However, Sandhya remains suspicious since the letter that had come from Chathuri had a different postmark than that of her village and remains convinced that there is some problem.

Hindi TV Serial - Pavitra Rishta - Purvi sacrifices her marriage for getting her mother accepted

One knew that such sort of things will happen. When the serial can create such a gap between the lead pair who were so much in love with each other, then it is very easy to show that the marriage of Purvi would not happen. One of course finds it a bit difficult to understand how this can be a Pavitra Rishta when there is no meeting of minds or hearts.
Purvi has a strong feeling that her mother is not getting her due, with no respect from her other daughters, and an impending divorce from her husband, somebody whom she loves dearly. So when the chance comes to demonstrate her love for her mother, when Ovi comes to her with a message that she will accept Archana as her mother if Purvi can get Arjun to marry Ovi, Purvi makes up her mind that this is what she will do.
So, she meets up with Arjun just on the eve of the marriage, hits him with the blow that she wants him to marry Ovi, something that he had already left behind, and be happy. Arjun is totally blown with this, but under blackmail from Purvi, finally agrees and does the marriage.
Even everybody in various sets of families are shocked, with Savita probably being the only happy one. Arjun told Ovi that this will not be a happy relationship; and even her family members know that Arjun had made his feelings towards Ovi clear in the past.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Shyaam sets a plan in motion that attacks Anjali again

The character of Shyaam is very difficult to understand. Earlier, he felt trapped due to his marriage with Anjali while he wanted Khushi, and as a part of the effort to get Anjali out of his live, he tries a number of attempts to kill Anjali; none of these end up working and no one gets to know what he is doing. Further, when Arnav discovers that Shyaam was cheating on Anjali and was interested in Khushi, he ends up taking the extreme step of forcefully getting Khushi married to him so that Shyaam cannot go after her. However, Shyaam does not end his tactics, and in the end, it is Arnaav who finally kicks him out of the house since he already knows the secret of Shyaam.
However, the presence of Shyaam in the serial brings in the villain factor which is otherwise not present, and hence the serial makers had to bring him back, and so they do. For some time, they show Anjali acting a bit strange and then they show Shyaam and Anjali getting back in touch, and then further, Dadi also gets in the action, encouraging this; she does not know what is happening and in her arrogance, decides that she needs to get Shyam back in the house, and this will be done when the god-bharai function is happening.
At the god-bharai function, Shyaam's plan is to create a major disaster which will bring him back in the house, and for this purpose, he steals back into the house and then plans a disaster to strike into Anjali's life - he puts glass on the floor which causes her legs to get injured, and then a wire onto the staircase which finally causes her to fall; and then the inevitable where her baby gets aborted. So, shyaam essentially kills his own baby.

Hindi TV Serial - Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha - Megha gets to know the truth

The serial was always a light look at the life of these people, but for the past several weeks, it has been getting into very serious issues; and the most serious issue is the current state of the relationship between Mohan and Megha. For Megha, life was good. After a lot of time, she realized that she was indeed in love with Mohan, and with this realization, things started moving in the right direction. The marriage happened with the proper rituals and with the permission and approval of her current inlaws and she moved into Mohan's house (although his mother was not approving of this relationship). One drawback was that she got to learn from Riddhima that Mohan and Riddhima almost got married for the sake of her father (Riddhima did not tell her that the marriage actually took place, while Mohan assumed that Megha now knows and was still fine after some disapproval).
However, when they came to Nepal for the honeymoon (along with children), things started going worse. In a coincidence that can only happen in Indian serials or movies, they landed up in the same hotel where Riddhima had joined for a job, and this seeing of Megha and Mohan together as a happy couple led Riddhima to have a turnabout and realize that she cannot see them happy together, and she started getting in a bad to worse condition. Mohan was also astounded, even more so when he learnt that Riddhima had not told the whole truth to Megha; and then Megha also learns the truth when sees the stamp paper that carried the divorce petition of Mohan and Riddhima.
For megha, this is a big shock since that also means that the marriage between Megha and Mohan is also illegal (his divorce from Riddhima not having come through as yet), and also that Mohan hid something this big from her. She is now confronting Mohan for what he did.

Hindi TV Serial - Diya Aur Bati Hum - Suraj back after successfully participating in World Top Cook

The show decided to send the family abroad, and which would also give the viewers a look at an international city; and so initially when Sandhya proposed that Suraj take part in a cooking contest, there was hesitation. Suraj himself was not convinced, but over a period of time, everybody agreed. And then Suraj won the local round of the show, getting selected to go to the international finale of the show, being held in Singapore. As part of the rules of the show, he was able to take along his wife, and his parents; and all of them got a chance to go to Singapore and stay in the most posh hotel over there, the Marina Bay Sands.
There were many challenges even just being there, since neither Suraj nor his parents knew English or other customs prevalent in Singapore, and that is another reason where an educated daughter-in-law in the form of Sandhya was able to provide incredible help. She took on the role of explaining to Suraj everything that was happening, and did not lose sight of their local customs as well (such as when she and Bhabho observed a fast, or observed Teej over there when a party was also ongoing).
The international cooking contest was a bit of drama, since it seemed a bit fake even though it was just part of a serial, and over a number of events, the cooking abilities of Suraj were able to fascinate everybody, even though some other participants were trying to put him down, or in the finale, one of them even tried to accuse him of spoiling her dish. So, now the contest is over, and Suraj is back, and they are showing him getting welcomed with celebrations, and so on. What was strange were the brief attempts being made to showcase this in real life as an achievement, since this was a fictional episode in a serial.

Hindi TV Serial - Phir Subah Hogi - Aditya has a sardhakai with Sugni

As expected, things got more complicated on the show. For some time, there was the romance between the thakur Vikram and Sugni, although it seemed impossible for most people, given the vast social differences between the two. However, over a period of time, Vikram thakur helped Sugni in a number of ways and this made sure that she looked at him in a positive light, and when he confessed his love to her, it did not take much time for her to fall in love with him, confess the same to him, and then agree to get married to him.
Her mother, his relatives and everybody else was not comfortable with this relation because of the economic and class differences between them, and even though her mother was not at all comfortable, Sugni decided to go ahead with the marriage. And then the inevitable happened, where this dream of Sugni came to an end. The serial showed, slowly, the presence of another women, and it was revealed that this lady, kept hidden away, was actually the wife of Vikram Thakur. This lady, Reva, makes her presence felt at the marriage ceremony, bringing the dreams of Sugni crashing down; she runs away from there and refuses to listen to what Vikram had to say.
And now the story moves to a difference level, where the younger thakur, Aditya, decides to do the sardakhai of Sugni, with many surprised as to how Sugni could agree for this, since, even though she was a bedni, she was against this custom. However, so far they are showing that Aditya has only a nice intent.

Hindi TV Serial - Balika Vadhu - Jagat learns the truth about what Gauri has done

For a long time in the serial, there was a lot of love between Jagat and Gauri, something which developed over a period of many years, and one could see that Gauri did love Jagat a lot. However, at the same time, she was also aware that the relationship between Jagat and her was a bit tenous and so she had to push his family away from him. So, over a period of time, she did a number of activities that either pushed them away, created more distances between Jagat and Anandi and also created emotional blackmail to get Jagat more to her side. Even when it was revealed that Bhairon had actually funded her education, she hid this from Jagat; and then on one occasion when Jagat almost got to know details about Bade Papa and his funding, she became very angry.
On the other hand, the Anandi's life was improving, Shiv was in love with her and got his parents and family to accept her (except for his sister who somehow has not accepted this relationship, being pampered and a bit selfish). Now, it will be interesting when Jagat comes back at the exact time when there are preparations being made for the marriage activities. How will this impact Anandi's life.

Hindi TV Serial - Punar Vivah - The reason why Yash is so angry is getting revealed

There is a sudden turmoil in the life of Yash and Aarti, a life that was only slowly getting settled. Yash is suddenly behaving very erratically, telling Aarti that he does not want to see her, that she should not come in front of him, and that they essentially have no relation anymore. This is very surprising, since till now, there was a feeling that the relation was improving, that he would get over the memory of his dead wife and accept Aarti as his wife. Even his family had come to believe that Aarti was the best person for him and in fact were urging her on to ensure that Yash comes to forget the strong memory of his dead wife and accept Aarti fully. The children had also come to accept her as their mother and Yash as their father; so this sudden drama was very surprising for everybody.
Things go so serious that the family members, including his mother wanted Aarti to accept that Yash no longer accepted her as his wife and to leave, but slowly things starting getting revealed. They had all gone to Mumbai, and there, due to a fire, Yash has to make a choice in a situation where he had to save Aarti, or to save the precious memories of his dead wife and he made the natural choice of Aarti, and this in turn seems to have turned him very angry. This realization is slowly coming to Aarti that this may have been the reason for the reaction that he is facing.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Relationship between Arnav and Khushi

The story went down on an angle. For the last 6 months, things have been that there is a marriage between Arnav and Khushi, but the whole angle has changed. The marriage that they had did not involve any pheras and this was now known to the family, and hence there was the concept that the marriage needs to happen again.
Now, Dadi is not very friendly towards Khushi and hence, when there came the question about the pheras not yet happening and this marriage needing to happen again formally, Dadi made her way to Khushi's house and there started bad-mouthing them. She spoke badly to them, made the inference that Khushi was after Arnav because he was a rich guy and she was after rich people.
At the end of this discussion, Dadi finally got what she wanted, with the relationship apparently broken, and then Dadi came back to the house and told everybody that the relationship was now broken. When Arnav heard this, he was very angry and claimed that he will make things better and also told Dadi in effect that this relationship will happen and she should not try to block it.
However, there is something hidden in the relationship between Dadi and Garima which can be problematic.

Hindi TV Serial - Pavitra Rishta - Purvi kidnapped by Vishnu, rescued by Arjun

What an introduction for Vishnu (actually Soham, the long lost son of Archana and Manav who was kidnapped by Varsha and presumed dead when he was very young). Varsha had run away from there and found her way out of the city, and was finally involved with a gang. Soham's name was changed to Vishnu, and inspite of the best efforts of Varsha, Vishnu was involved with the gang and hence a bad character.
Seeking to make money from Manav, the gang members were shadowing Manav but were detected and hence police protection for Manav was arranged. Vishnu finally decided to kidnap Ovi, since that would mean that ransom money would get easily paid, and so it happened. They decided to kidnap Ovi, but at the last minute, due to the confusion of Purvi wearing a sari of the same color, Purvi got kidnapped indeed. Manav took responsibility for ensuring that Purvi would be released by arranging for the ransom, and also prohibiting the police or Arjun from following him. However, both these groups decide to ignore what Manav was telling them, and followed him. Seeing the police, Vishnu was enraged, and then Arjun also intervened. But when trying to take Purvi away, he got shot. In the melee, he came again after some time, and got shot again, but this time the police also got in the midst and managed to get Purvi out.
In the hospital, the doctors finally declare Arjun out of danger; both Ovi and Purvi are incredibly happy but Arjun reaches out for Purvi which shocks Ovi and she leaves from there. At the same time, Vishnu is apparently not caught but his gang member is caught. Varsha is leaving for Mumbai to find out what happened to Vishnu.

Hindi TV Serial - Pavitra Rishta - The re-appearance of Varsha and Soham

For some time, there has been the concept of getting Varsha and Soham in the picture as well. Ever since Varsha ran away with Soham and then apparently died in an accident, there was tension between Manav and Archana, also because Manav blamed Archana for the actions of Varsha, that she tried to be too good for Varsha without bothering about what Varsha wanted to do; this was one of the reasons why Manav was angry with Archana, and then the actions of Savita where she mis-guided Manav about her discussions with Archana increased this detachment.
In recent times, Savita saw that Teju was getting closer to Archana, and decided that it was time to turn them against Archana and hence told them the story about Soham and Varsha, but with a twist where she blamed Archana for a lot of what happened. As a result, both Ovi and Teju are again against Archana, and this time Archana is angry about what happened and will tell off Savita for what she is doing, threatening her that she knows what all happened and the role of Savita.
They are also showing Varsha and Soham now, where Varsha ran away from there and went off to Patna, with Varsha wanting to never come back so that they cannot be found anymore. But Soham, now known as Vishnu, is now part of a gang and part of the gang's plan is to kidnap Manav since he is a rich guy; in the meantime, Manav knows that somebody is after him.

Hindi TV Serial - Kya Hua Tera Vaasa - Mona gets promoted very high, seems very strange

A lot of people would have seen the movie called 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke' where a cute Aamir Khan was trying to save his factory from the clutches of a rich vengeful man, and even when he had completed the order, his truck was stolen and he finally recovered the truck and everything became good again.
Kya Hua Tera Vaasa had almost a similar episode, where Mona was stuck in a major trap set by Anushka, with Mona not wanting the workers of a part of the company to be fired since it was going to be closed down. Anushka was of course wanting those workers to be fired, but Mona, goaded by anushka, agreed to a promise whereby if the unit was turned around in 3 months, everything would be fine, but if not, she would leave the company. And then, for some time, nothing happened.
And then, the new owner of the company came to India, and noticed that the unit had not been shut down; he became angry and Anushka fed the anger, to the extent, he claimed that since there were only 2 days left to complete the order, if the order was not completed, he would fire Mona. Mona was scared, but then managed to recruit a group of women's activists, with the help of Anushka's mother. When Anushka got to know, she goaded her mother to remove the activists, but then Mona spoke to her again and things were all right again and the production was completed.
But, the truck was hijacked, and they set out in pursuit, finally managed to catch the truck, get the completed items, beat up the hijackers, get to know that Anushka was involved; then the client got the order, was happy and everybody was happy. Further, the boss got to know that Anushka was involved, which caused her a lot of shame, and then the surprise announcement - Mona was made the President of the company, at the same level as Anushka, and now senior to Pradeep.
This was a very very surprising development, and one wonders how Mona could have been made the President, she does not have the experience or the competence level as of now; very surprising since one would have expected the serial to show the slower growth of Mona. 

Hindi TV Serial - Diya Aur Bati Hum - The contest in Singapore and language issues

So, Suraj cleared the first part of the cookery contest in Delhi and has now been cleared to attend the international finals in Singapore. And for this, he can take 3 more people along - these being Sandhya, Bhabho and Bhabhasa. The problematic part is that except for Sandhya, none of them know English and even many machinery is different - for example, the washroom is different, the induction cooker used in the competition is different, and so on. Without Sandhya, there would not have been any hope for any of them.
Anyhow, they have ended up in the flight to Singapore, and apart from some anxiety on the flight, things are uneventful. Also, Bhabo is unused to how the washroom works, and when there is a mess inside the bathroom, a lady scolds Bhabho before it gets revealed that it was a child who made the mess inside the washroom. Sandhya then scolds the lady roundly.
In a party as part of the competition, Bhabho and the others are apprehensive, since there is non-vegetarian food also being served as part of the menu, but Sandhya takes them to another part of the hall where vegetarian food is available. And then the competition begins, where Suraj wants to make jalebi as the starting dish. However, he is unused to an induction cooker, and the oil gets too hot, and the jalebis are burnt.

Hindi TV Serial - Pratigya - Abhishek in the haveli for his rights, against the family

After the court case where Tanmay was finally accused of the murder of Adarsh, and Krishna was left out, there was the unfinished business about why Abhishek was willing to do anything to make sure that Krishna remained accused of the crime, and be convicted. However, Pratigya played a key role in getting Krishna off and revealing the truth.
Now, there is a further confrontation between Krishna and Abhishek where they fought with each other; and then the scene shifts where SS also comes in and soon gets Abhishek beaten up, all the while you can see that there is some connection between them, and since this is a Hindi serial, you know that Abhishek will be the son of Sajjan Singh.
And so it happens, where Abhishek comes to the haveli with his mother and confronts Sajjan Singh. Sajjan allows them to stay in the haveli without promising anything more, while Abhishek wants the rights due to him. The others in the family are hostile to Abhishek and his mother, although Pratigya is more balanced.
In another confrontation, Krishna and Abhishek agree to a wrestling match in a week, the outcome of which will decide whether Abhishek will leave the haveli, or whether the others in the family will recognize him as their own. Both are getting ready for this fight.
In another twist, on the road, Shakti sees Abhishek outside and tries to run him down with his jeep, but Pratigya comes in the way and gets hit by the jeep. Abshishek forces Shakti to take Pratigya to the hospital, and when Krishna comes to the hospital, Pratigya lamblasts both Shakti and Krishna for what they are trying to do.

Hindi TV Serial - Parichay - Vikram catches Rohit, there is a fight ongoing

The serial keeps on meandering between the Thakral's and Kunal's family. There is also some concern in fans of the serial about the apparent change in the serial; the serial started out with a greater focus on Kunal with the show revolving around him; now he is just another character in the serial, with limited airtime for the past weeks while Siddhi is the main superman in the serial. She finds out the truth, locates Rohit by going to Thakral's house and listening to a phone conversation and then actually follows Rohit to a red light area.
When she corners Rohit in a room, he tried to turn the tables on her by forcing her to stay in the room and leaving on his own (although she injures him by throwing things on him, and almost manages to get him to stay); and also calling the police with the assumption that they will arrest Siddhi for immoral trafficking. He does manage to get away to some extent, but Vikram reaches there and fights with Rohit. Rohit seems to be getting the upper hand in the fight, but then Vikram manages to overcome Rohit. In the meantime, Richa reaches the place where Rohit was earlier and was arrested in the police raid while Siddhi manages to get away from there.
When Siddhi reaches home, Thakral has learnt about the arrest of Richa and reaches Siddhi's home accusing her of getting Richa arrested in revenge. He does not believe when Siddhi tells him that Rohit is alive; and then Vikram calls her saying that he has Rohit. The precap leaves it a bit suspicious about the motives of Vikram, but he is normally shown as a very good guy, so one wonders as to what is happening.

Hindi TV Serial - Bade Acche Lagte Hain - 5 years later, in Dubai now

So the serial finally made its fresh beginning, as was being advertised some time back. So you have Ram finally haven got over the shock of losing Priya and now reverting back to original, being a hard-hearted business man who cannot be fooled easily, and gone back to eating his oil rich food and eating drugs. On the other hand, Vikram and Neha do not look too much in terms of 5 years older, although Neha is now showing as a typical obsessed mother, with a son who resents too much of his mother's interference.
When Priya reached Dubai with the young girl, she came in contact with a rich and cold businessman, Rajat Kapoor. When he learns that Priya managed to make it to Dubai with the young girl, he tries to give her some money but Priya wants a job rather than money. He is reluctant, but finally offers her a book shop he has that does not make money, and tells her strictly that he wants rent on time, no compromises.
5 years later, Priya is still struggling, trying to pay rent on time. Her bookshop just manages to run, not making a lot of money, and if she has to give something to her daughter, then it is a problem. And we are introduced to her (and Ram's) daughter, Pihu, a young girl who copies many habits of her father. She snores, considers her mother to be untidy, and even shares the same tastes in ice-cream and and chocolate.
And then Ram comes to Dubai for some work in business, expresses an interest in seeing a book shop and then runs into his own daughter who is searching for Priya in the mall. They both have the same interest, wanting a large eclair, and then she asks him to help her search for Priya.

Hindi TV Serial - Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha - After Megha agrees to marry him, Mohan to marry somebody else

This was an incredibly bad twist in the serial, something which is going to get a lot of viewers frustrated and angry. The show, while taking on a mature story, never got into the real serious stuff shown in other saas-bahu serials, keeping a lighter focus on even serious matters. However, the latest twist in the serial seems like  the mind of a frustrated writer who wants to inflict agony by creating elements of the story out of thin air.
The story goes like this - Megha was going to get married to Maanav, who everybody in the family also likes, and Megha refused to listen to what Mohan was saying. Also, to see Mohan, Ridhima had come with her parents, but Mohan remains interested in Megha only, even though his mother was trying to force him away from Megha.
Near the last few episodes, Mohan tries to reveal some truths about Manav, but then Maanav reveals that these were not the complete truth, and as a result, Manav becomes even more of a hero, and Mohan does not have a leg to stand upon. In desperation, he turns to drink, and then incited by his mom, he goes to Megha's house in a drunken state and implores her to marry him.
She does not support him, being in a shocked state, but when he leaves, she finally tells everybody that she does indeed love Mohan, and after some hesitation, her father-in-law accepts all this and says that he will get Megha married to Mohan, something that Renu did not want. However, things have turned horrific at the other end.
Mohan gets a call from Riddima's mother, where Riddhima's father is on the death bed, and he wants Mohan to marry his daughter before he dies (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi); Mohan is still feeling that Megha has rejected him, and hesitantly, he agrees to the marriage, and an emergency marriage happens at the temple. It is thus that while Megha is dreaming of getting married to Mohan, he is getting married to Riddhima.
