Hindi TV Serial - Dil Mil Gaye - Armaan and Riddhima getting together again

Dil Mil Gaye is reaching an end, with the story about Riddhima and Sid having come to an end. The serial started with Armaan not there in the picture, and moved towards the 2 Doctors of Sid and Riddhima being separate from each other, although Sid did like Dr. Riddhima; she was not particularly fond of him. However, owing to an act of nature, they were stuck in a situation whereby they had to get closer to each other (there was a cold wave, and they have to use their body heat to get some warmth); as a result, Riddima came under pressure to marry Sid and finally agreed to marry him.
However, this marriage was something that was not very comfortable for either of them, and they had to put in a lot of effort to try and get somewhat close to each other, with physical intimacy being somewhat distant. This time though, Riddhima wanted to give the marriage a full chance, and tried to ensure that Sid was also convinced to give the marriage a chance.
And then Armaan came back in the serial, and this caused the triangle to get resurrected. It took some time for Armaan to learn about this marriage, and even though he accepted it (and the serial even introduced another character called Dr. Shlipa as an attempted love interest for Armaan), it was not to be. Riddhima started having some sort of feelings for Armaan again, to the extent that Sid got heavily uncomfortable and suspicious. And then Armaan realized that him and Riddhima getting together was the right approach, and finally Sid decided to end the marriage. Riddhima was confused over all this, and left to get some distance, but Armaan pursued her and finally got her back.

Hindi TV Serial - Dil Mil Gaye - Back to square one, Armaan and Riddhima feeling for each other

Dil Mil Gaye has suddenly started turning boring, with the story taking a strange twist. For some time now, the serial has been showing the sudden and non-loving marriage of Riddhima and Sid slowly starting to move along. Both of them decide that they want to take this relationship ahead, and slowly start to feel each other out (although initially Sid was very angry with Riddhima because of the fact that she wanted to commit suicide at the time of the marriage). But they were trying to make a case out of it, and Riddhima seemed to want to give the marriage a serious effort and even tried to persuade Sid to get it a serious attempt.
And then the makers of the serial started to put in some masala, and brought in the character of Armaan, the former love of Riddhima. Armaan did not know for some time that Riddhima was married to Siddharth, and when he finally found out, he was shocked, but then decided to try and support this, since it seemed that Riddhima was uncomfortable with him, and seemed to try and make the marriage a success.
And now the twist, it seems that both Armaan and Riddhima are having second thoughts. Both feel that they still have feelings for each other, and this is causing Riddhima to have a lot of confusion, since she is not able to fully commit to Sid, and Sid is also confused at this behavior of Riddhima. Further, Armaan has reverted back, and is now sure that he wants Riddhima back, even though this can cause problems to the marriage.

Hindi TV Serial - Dil Mil Gaye - Siddharth and Riddhima moving closer together, while Shilpa getting closer to Armaan

Dil Mil Gaye is living up to the name of the serial, where couples are getting closed together. So, you have the troubled duo of Siddharth and Riddhima getting closed together, agreeing to live together, and getting more comfortable with the idea of a physical relationship between them. At the same time, ever since Dr. Shilpa was introduced in the serial, it was clear that she would be the girl for Armaan, and they followed the traditional pattern for a romance.
Initially, the relationship between them was more hostile, with questioning each other's actions, asking strong questions of each other, helped by the fact that Armaan was still hurting to accept the fact that Riddhima would not come back to him, and was getting closer to Dr. Siddharth. However, as Armaan and Shilpa spent more time together, they were getting closer, and things turned over in the one night when they were out, and where Armaan got involved in a fight with a street gang, fighting back when Shilpa was threatened (and this seems to have turned the fight between them into the basis for a romance).
On the other hand, the story of riddhima's birthday became more complex, when Siddharth was to setup a party for Riddhima, and asked Shilpa for help. She had Armaan's old diary for help, where a description of a previous birthday party for Riddhima was listed (but without any reference to Riddhima); so when the party happened, both Riddhima and Armaan were shocked at the party. And the shock to Armaan was that he got drunk in the party.

Hindi TV Serial - Dil Mil Gaye - Finally Armaan realizes about the situation that Riddhima is in

Dil Mil Gaye had at some point in the past, a romantic relationship between the lead pair, Armaan and Riddhima. However, with Armaan out of the scene for a long time, the attention shifted to the second pair of Riddhima and Siddharth. In a twist, Siddharth got married to Riddhima (even though she did not like him, but due to some special circumstances, she had to get married to him for family honor). At the last minute, she tried to commit suicide, which caused Sid a lot of pain, and he turned against her even though he continued with the marriage. But she had decided that this was a proper marriage and she will try to make the best out of it.
However, soon the makers of the serial decided to bring Armaan back, and he came back into the whole situation, all ready to woo Riddhima again, having already come to the conclusion that their previous love affair could continue. However, nobody has the courage to tell him the truth, and hide the fact of Siddharth and Riddhima's marriage from him; and then Armaan finds that Riddhima, to his surprise, seems to be hiding away from him.
In the meantime, Siddharth seems to be on a mission to bring together Riddhima and Armaan, believing that they are meant to be together, and that the marriage was an aberration. However, when Riddhima finds out, she is very angry at him. She scolds Siddharth that she is trying to make the marriage work, and yet here Sid is trying to deceive her, and not support her when she really needs this support. Sid is shocked at this and tries to console her, but she remains angry.

Dill Mil Gaye - the re-entry of Dr. Armaan in the show (when Dr. Riddhima and Dr. Siddhant are now married to each other)

Dil Mil Gaye, which started out as a serial depicting the struggles and efforts of people involved in the medical profession, is now turning out to be another Hindi serial in terms of twists and turns. So, a long time back, there was the perfect romantic couple of Dr. Armaan and Dr. Riddhima, but they had to break up, and the characters left the show, with a new set of characters in the show. One of the most prominent one was Dr. Siddhant (played by Karan Wahi); the serial makers must have figured that the ones whom the viewers voted as the most popular ones were Dr. Riddhima and Dr. Armaan, so first they brought in Dr. Riddhima. In true filmy style, Dr. Riddhima did not like Dr. Siddhant, but he liked her. And then came the time when he had to save her from dying of cold, and the way he did this was something that she detested. However, they got married because of family pressure and honor, and then she tried suicide. This caused Dr. Siddhant to get very negative about her, and finally tell her that he detested her. All these were incidents that made the serial become a very dramatic type of Hindi Serial.
And now for something that is even more dramatic, the re-entry of Dr. Armaan into the serial. He does not know about the marriage between Dr. Sid and Dr. Riddhima, and seems to think that Dr. Riddhima is still his love, and waiting for him. Dr. Siddhant knows about the earlier love between Dr. Armaan and Dr. Riddhima, and does not tell him about the marriage, although the other interns at the hospital feel that he should know the truth.

Dil Mil Gaye - Siddharth remains furious with Dr. Riddhima after her attempted suicide

How can things suddenly change so much in a serial. In the serial Dil Mil Gaye (on Star One) till now, Dr. Riddhima was totally against Dr. Siddharth, and even when he saved her life by providing his body warmth to her (the familiar cliche about the body warmth being the only thing that can save a life in extreme cold), she was furious and wanted him to have let her die rather than saved her by this close intimacy.
However, the ever present concept of Indian society of honour makes its way, and now a marriage was planned between the two characters. However, she had to agree because of family pressure, and she did not want to see her family getting hurt. But, she really did not want to go through this marriage and attempted suicide by consuming poison. This was discovered by Dr. Siddharth, who managed to bring her back from the brink, and also managed to hide this truth from her family, who were just outside the door.
However, this attempted suicide shook Dr. Siddharth to the core, and he lashed out at her strongly, saying that he never wanted anybody else to give up their life for him, and now he rejects her. This brought about an abrupt change in her, but he is now very cold and hostile to her in private, although he is still polite when in company.
In a side note, Yuvraj admitted to this love that his story was false, and that he is not really who he claimed to be.

Marriage on the cards for Dr. Riddhima and Dr. Sidhant? - A moral question due to their becoming intimate

A few weeks back the buzz in the television industry had been that Dr. Riddhima and Dr. Armaan, the hottest pair of Hindi serials, from Dil Mil Gaye were set to return. Viewers had been waiting patiently, albeit a bit anxiously, for this beloved on screen couple to return and recreate their magic. Indeed such has been the chemistry of this duo that they had become the defining word for love and romance on television. Many loyal viewers were left heart broken when the lovely couple were taken off from the show. Despite the introduction of many new characters, the show was unable to recapture lost loyalty.

The creative team behind Dil Mil Gaye then decided to bring in one half of the pair and Dr. Riddhima (Jennifer Winget) was brought back. The story then proceeded to build a love-hate relationship (that was to ultimately culminate in love alone) between Dr. Riddhima and Dr. Sidhant (aka Sid), one of the new characters introduced. However viewer response to the same was lukewarm. It did not take long for the producers to realise that people were still waiting for Dr. Armaan’s return. Wisely they picked up this vibe and tried to weave in a narrative whereby the entire fault for Armaan’s disappearance and abandoning of Riddhima was laid on Dr. Shashank’s shoulders.

The track showed Riddhima accidentally finding the truth about Armaan’s disappearance. It had been Dr. Shashank (Riddhima’s father) who had persuaded Armaan to get out of his daughter’s life. Upon learning the truth Riddhima is heart broken and sets out in search of Armaan. Dr. Siddhant who is in love with her, follows her without her knowledge. She goes to Panchgani searching for him and gets caught in a blizzard. Weakened by lack of food, she collapses and it falls upon Siddhant to save her. The two end up getting physically intimate with each other. A furious and outraged Riddhima, accuses Sid of raping her as she had been in a very vulnerable state, both mentally and physically, when the act happened.

A heart broken Sid, shocked at Riddhima’s accusations will propose marriage to her in order to protect her reputation. But will Riddhima accept? Is it right to force marriage upon two individuals when any one party is not in love with the other, just because they had been forced by external circumstances to become intimate? What matters more-morals or human life? If Riddhima and Sid were to get married theirs would be a compromise, not just for them but for the audience as well. It will be the channel’s way of telling the loyal fans, “Sorry we couldn’t get you Riddhima and Armaan, so here’s the second best option. Like it or leave it.”

Armaan and Riddhima - A love story that will endure the test of time?

What is it with love stories? And what is it with certain television couples? No matter what the passage of time, they remain embedded in public memory, refusing to make place for other ones. The same holds true for Star One’s Dil Mil Gaye and its super successful love track shown between the lead pair of Dr. Riddhima (Jennifer Winget) and Dr. Armaan (Karan Singh Grover). The makers and team of Dil Mil Gaye could not have anticipated the kind of tremendous response generated by the love story between Riddhima and Armaan. Despite the fact that the actor playing Riddhima saw three changes, she along with Armaan remained a darling of the masses.

At the height of their popularity, the characters were written away from the serial. And then began the patient wait of all Dil Mil Gaye lovers that one day their favourite stars would return. In the interim period a whole new bunch of characters and faces were introduced. But despite their vain attempts, Dil Mil Gaye still remained Armaan and Riddhima’s. Giving in to popular sentiments, Riddhima’s character was brought back. And it was expected that soon Armaan would follow suit. However the team decided to try something new. They decided to replace the old love story with a new one.

Thus Riddhima and Sidhant (Karan Wahi) were expected to be the new love birds, who with their constant bickering, intense dislike for each and underlying chemistry would set the small screen on fire. But alas, in the television industry, it is the writers who propose and viewers who get to dispose-ideas, content, actors, serials. Thus the Riddhima and Sid love story failed to strike a chord with the audience and now the inevitable is almost set to happen.

After four months of waiting, viewers might get to see their favourite couple (Armaan and Riddhima) back in action. Riddhima who so far has believed that she has been abandoned by Armaan will get to learn the truth. She will find out that it was her father who had lied to her that Armaan had walked out of her life when she was lying unconscious after the bullet injury. She will learn that it was due to her father’s arm twisting that Armaan had to walk of out her life. Finding the truth will enable and empower her to stand against her father (Dr. Shashank) and go in search of her true love-Dr. Armaan. It is the magic created by these two characters (and of course the respective actors) that has forced the creative hand to bring them back from anonymity to their rightful place-that of the television screen.
