Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Khushi taking part in the Mrs. India contest

The story is taking a new twist. In an exodus of sorts, there is a lot of talk that Barun (the actor playing the role of Arnav) is moving out of the serial, and also that the actors playing the role of Akash and Payal have also left the show (they are shown as missing from the serial for now). For some time, seems like the show is taking a small story and spending some time on it while trying to figure out what to do with the show. So, for now, the show is taking the story of an ambition of Khushi to take part in the Mrs. India show, a show which takes married ladies and evaluates them for their abilities.
So, Khushi has taken part in the show and has managed to clear the first phase. She has not yet told Arnav about this, although the rest of the family know about this and are encouraging her. From time to time, something happens where Arnav gets to know something or the other which could reveal the secret, and then he finally gets to know.
Khushi finds herself in a whole group of competitive ladies who are all much smarter, wear more new fashioned clothes who look down upon Khushi. The trainer over there also realizes that a lot more work needs to happen with Khushi to get her to competition levels. She also finds things odd, including the fact that   she has to change her diet and eat a lot more nutritious food and avoid sweet foods (including her favorite jalebis) as well as the fried food she likes. And then Arnav turns up at the preparation place and does not acknowledge her, and in fact makes a snide comment at her which causes her to get angry with him and promise to take this out when she meets him at home.
And then now a new guy has entered the preparation place, a guy who is a flirt. He tries to flirt with a competitor and then catches her hand, causing Khushi to tell him to lay off; and he was a guy who was supposed to be important for the competition.

Just goes to show that you can easily add complication to a story and extend a story without any issues, you just add some extra element to a story line and make it much more complicated. So, when the Shyam story ended and it seemed that the story between Arnav and Khushi would become boring, out sprang an illegitimate son. This normally was present in serials from the past where the lead hero of the story would find sons suddenly coming up to confront him, and this would cause complications in his life.
In this case as well, Khushi comes across a small child called Aarav who reminds her of how a younger version of Arnav would be like, and then circumstances bring the child to their home itself, along with her mother, Sheetal, who is an old friend of Arnav. There is a lot of surprise in the home about the common habits of Arnav and Aarav, although nobody at home tries to make the connection that Arnav could be his son. The only comments that come in are about a child causing the change in behavior of Arnav, and maybe that the time is right for Khushi and Arnav to have their family. However, when Khushi tries to ask Arnav, he responds in anger and the story dies over there. Aarav also wants to know the name of his father but Sheetal does not tell him.
But, things do not end. Khushi is very suspicious, although Sheetal does not try to do anything to claim a position in Arnav's life; but the suspicions of Khushi are massively magnified when at Karva Chauth, she sees that Sheetal is fasting, and then breaks her fast by catching a glimpse of Arnav (trying to do this in a way that nobody will make out). And then Khushi sees the DNA report that verifies her suspicions, and when she confronts Sheetal, Sheetal tells her that what would be the point of telling Arnav. Sheetal cannot stay in the house, and she cannot stay without Aarav, but Khushi is determined to ensure that the son does not stay away from his dad, and she finally tells Arnav.

The serial just ended up one of its mechanisms for showing villains and drama. Till now, the serial used to be able to spend a significant amount of time showing something or the other that Shyaam used to do and the impact of those actions. So, Shyaam was the one who was trying different methods of killing Anjali earlier, he was the one who was trying to get married to Khushi while married to Anjali, he was the one who had kidnapped Arnav, he was the one who came back into the house through the method of creating a drama by harming Anjali and then pretending that he was the one who could support Anjali.
The biggest mistake he did was to allow Arnav to see that there were cameras hidden inside the house, and towards that end, Arnav and Khushi were then able to see inside Shyam's laptop while keeping Shyam busy elsewhere, and there they were able to see something that made them very angry. They knew that Shyam could do anything, but in the videos, they were able to see that Shyaam was the one who did a sequence of steps that lead to Anjali falling down and losing her baby, and this knowledge horrified them. They could not leave Anjali in the company of Shyam after that and it was necessary that Anjali got to know the truth.
So, they found a occasion and decided to do a drama, and in the middle of the drama, started indicating what had happened and then showed the video clips that proved that there was a lot done to harm Anjali and her baby; and this together with the overall drama somehow caused Shyam to burst out the truth about what he had done. And this finally led Anjali to believe that Shyam was the main culprit and she slapped him.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Arnav comes to the mandap and goes ahead with the marriage

This episode suddenly became one of the most decisive ones of the relationship, where Arnav had already come to know the role of Garima in making him an orphan, with Dadi telling him the truth so that he would not go ahead with the relationship. This made him very angry and you could see him taking out his frustration in a garden, breaking a few things. He finally reaches the mandap where the previous episode left it like that, leaving it undecided as to whether he would go ahead with the marriage.
The serial takes the logical step, where Arnav has already remembered his mother's advice where she asked him always to be sure of what is wrong and not to blame where there is no blame, and that is what Arnav does. He says that Khushi is not to blame, and the marriage will happen. When Dadi steps in, he tells her that the blame was actually his father's and Garima was not to blame; and also tells Dadi that if she does not accept this, she can also leave. And so Dadi leaves.
There is happiness everywhere, with Anjali also blessing the marriage even though Shyam expresses feelings against the marriage, but Anjali does not listen and continues with her blessings for the marriage. During the marriage there are some flashbacks as well, and then the serial moves to Arnav's house where Khushi is welcomed in the traditional manner. However, there is still Shyaam, and he will do something, including using a webcam to do spying on their suhagraat.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - The marriage breaks up

The serial has gone into mega-drama mode. It was expected that the marriage between Khushi and Arnav would not be smooth, given that the makers of the serial have been pushing the story of Garima and the confrontation between Garima and Dadi and Dadi's efforts to ensure that the marriage does not happen. Dadi did not block the events leading to the marriage, and Arnav was anyhow not listening to her.
However, things got problematic on the day of the marriage. Dadi finally unveils her weapon and takes Arnav aside and tells him the whole story of Garima, and how her presence and actions caused him and Anjali to become an orphan. This really shocks Arnav. While Arnav is shocked, Dadi goes to the marriage mandap and starts talking to Garima, and ultimately everybody learns about the past and how this caused their two families to have interacted in the past, not in a good way.
And then Dadi leaves from there, leaving everybody shocked. Khushi is shocked, but does not move from there. For a long time, there is no movement, everybody else leaves and it is only the families who are staying there. Even though Buaji thinks that Khushi is in shock, Khushi does not move from there saying that Arnav will come and she does not want to move from there since Arnav would come. In the meantime, Arnav is going through a lot of disorientation, remembering both his interactions with his mother, and with Kshushi and is very confused. He does finally come to the mandap, but the serial leaves it vague about what will happen next, since they show Arnav being very bitter.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - The wedding approaches, but will Dadi do something ?

The serial is making viewers sit on the edge of their seats, waiting for something to happen at the last minute. Dadi recognized Garima, scolded her, and told her that she will not let Garima's daughters cause problems in her house. As the first step, she will not let the marriage of Khushi and Arnav proceed; Garima pleads with her not to do this, but Dadi is pretty vehement in what she wants. Shyaam, who is in the background, is very happy about this, and wants all this to happen, since this will be his revenge for whatever happened to him (anyhow, for somebody who caused the death of his own unborn child, this is a minor moral issue). Shyam even arranges to get a photo cleared up which showed Arnav's father and Garima.
However, Shyam is upset when he sees Dadi not trying to do anything to stop the marriage, instead she hands a ceremonial bracelet to Khushi, explaining later that she felt this was the best thing to do for the marriage. And post this, the serial proceeds on a more fun filled direction, showing a lot of festivities, where people do skits mocking the love affair of Arnav and Khushi, and so on. And in her innocence, Khushi tells Arnav and NK that a bachelor party is fine, but when Payal tells her what a bachelor party is, she gets very angry and goes to disturb the party; where Arnav pacifies her and tells her that he would never do such a thing. And then they have intimate moments, not going all the way but showing Arnav and Khushi reaching for a kiss, and then .. do not show more.
Now, the promo is the interesting part, since it shows Dadi telling Arnav about Garima, and asking him whether he really wants to marry Khushi ? I would think that he should go ahead with the marriage, but it will make the serial less interesting for the makers of the serial, and they would like to show more controversy.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Dadi gets to see Garima

For quite some time, there has been a lot of controversy about why Garima has been staying away from Dadi, since they show Garima taking any number of excuses to not be present in front of Dadi. The show leaves the reason for the same in suspense for some time, but over a period of time, the viewers are told that the tragedy in Arnav's life which caused the death of his mother was the perceived presence of another woman in his father's life. And the audience can easily guess where this entire discussion is going, that Garima would be the mystery woman who everybody in the family would blame for the death of the father.
On the other hand, the strategy taken by Shyam seems to be working. He manipulated an accident for Anjali which lead to the death of her unborn child, with the thought that this would mean that she would become emotionally weak, and hence he could make his re-entry into the house. Over the resistance of Arnav, this seemed to be working, since Anjali (on the coaching of Shyam) became more adamant that she wanted Shyam in the house and was not having her food. Eventually, Khushi got Shyam back, without telling Arnaav, and they had a few tense moments. Shyam was over-joyed at his plan working, but was not going to stop at this, he had to make all of them pay for what they did to him.
On the other side, Dadi had a confrontation with Garima, and recognizing her, told Garima that she would not let her daughters into the house, so although the elder daughter was there, the younger daughter would not be allowed in. Shyam was watching this and was happy, but then later Dadi turned and did not raise any objections. Why she did this is not clear.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Shyaam sets a plan in motion that attacks Anjali again

The character of Shyaam is very difficult to understand. Earlier, he felt trapped due to his marriage with Anjali while he wanted Khushi, and as a part of the effort to get Anjali out of his live, he tries a number of attempts to kill Anjali; none of these end up working and no one gets to know what he is doing. Further, when Arnav discovers that Shyaam was cheating on Anjali and was interested in Khushi, he ends up taking the extreme step of forcefully getting Khushi married to him so that Shyaam cannot go after her. However, Shyaam does not end his tactics, and in the end, it is Arnaav who finally kicks him out of the house since he already knows the secret of Shyaam.
However, the presence of Shyaam in the serial brings in the villain factor which is otherwise not present, and hence the serial makers had to bring him back, and so they do. For some time, they show Anjali acting a bit strange and then they show Shyaam and Anjali getting back in touch, and then further, Dadi also gets in the action, encouraging this; she does not know what is happening and in her arrogance, decides that she needs to get Shyam back in the house, and this will be done when the god-bharai function is happening.
At the god-bharai function, Shyaam's plan is to create a major disaster which will bring him back in the house, and for this purpose, he steals back into the house and then plans a disaster to strike into Anjali's life - he puts glass on the floor which causes her legs to get injured, and then a wire onto the staircase which finally causes her to fall; and then the inevitable where her baby gets aborted. So, shyaam essentially kills his own baby.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Relationship between Arnav and Khushi

The story went down on an angle. For the last 6 months, things have been that there is a marriage between Arnav and Khushi, but the whole angle has changed. The marriage that they had did not involve any pheras and this was now known to the family, and hence there was the concept that the marriage needs to happen again.
Now, Dadi is not very friendly towards Khushi and hence, when there came the question about the pheras not yet happening and this marriage needing to happen again formally, Dadi made her way to Khushi's house and there started bad-mouthing them. She spoke badly to them, made the inference that Khushi was after Arnav because he was a rich guy and she was after rich people.
At the end of this discussion, Dadi finally got what she wanted, with the relationship apparently broken, and then Dadi came back to the house and told everybody that the relationship was now broken. When Arnav heard this, he was very angry and claimed that he will make things better and also told Dadi in effect that this relationship will happen and she should not try to block it.
However, there is something hidden in the relationship between Dadi and Garima which can be problematic.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Finally Shyam kicked out of the house

This week was a long drawn episode on the serial, actually the whole of the last 2 months have seemed to be a very drawn out version of the serial, with Arnav's absence being shown as his kidnapping, the conviction of Khushi that Shyam was the one responsible for the kidnapping, and her attempts to ensure that Arnav gets free from the kidnapping. So, there is a final confrontation where apparently Shyam ties Khushi on the road so that Arnav's vehicle can kill her, but she manages to just escape death. The confrontation between Shyam and Khushi was very weird, for example, Shyam put Khushi on the passenger seat and then moved to the driver's side - what prevented her from jumping out of the car while Shyam moved to the driver's side, and how was she wearing the seat belt when she was forced into the car ? That entire episode was strange.
And then the confrontation at the house. Arnav finally got free and came back home, and then Khushi blamed Shyam for doing this kidnapping. And that set off a long confrontation, where it seemed that Shyam used all his abilities to try and question the motives of Khushi, the support provided by Payal, and even by NK. And for a long time, Arnav remained quiet, although the pushing by Khushi and the push back by Shyam went in favor of the other and back for some time. Finally, when Shyam called Khushi bad names, accusing her of very low morals by targeting Shyam, then Arnav came in action, and slapped Shyam a couple of times, and then finally pushed him out of the home. However, all this is likely to have a bad effect on Anjali, something which both Arnav and Khushi wanted to avoid.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Getting closer to getting Arnav out of the trap

It seems like the time has finally come for the vacation of Barun to come to an end, so the serial is moving multiple threads together. It is clear to Khushi and NK that Shyam is the one behind the entire episode of Arnav getting kidnapped, and it was also clear to Khushi that Shyam is totally for her, not caring about his existing marriage and her marriage to Arnav, and also about the fact that Khushi has made it clear to Shyam that she does not share his feelings.
Anjali believes that Shyam is a wonderful husband, dedicated to her; and the serial makers are now implanting the seeds of doubt, so that in the coming episodes, they can show his truth to everybody. To this extent, Mami saw the episode where Khushi was trying to persuade Shyam to give a divorce to his wife, Anjali, and she told the same thing to Anjali. Anjali refused to believe that Shyam could do something like that, and she tried to get in touch with Shyam to confirm; and then she is shocked when Payal does not deny this.
At the other side, Khushi and NK have managed to get hold of a hotel bill and are using that to try and trace where Arnav may have been kept by using the restaurant delivery boys to find the location. Khushi manages to find the location, and does a bit of quick help by removing the kerosene from some jerry cans and replacing them with water, since this can was being meant to try and burn Arnav alive.
By this time Shyam has learnt that Khushi is betraying him, and reaches the place, and confronts her; and she replies back hard to him about whatever he has done.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Khushi getting closer to Shyam so as to defeat him

The serial is slowly losing its TRP's since they are dragging the story. Their lead actor went on a leave of 40 days for which they had to make do without him, and since the interaction between the lead male-female pair is the main part of this story, it made things very boring. So, there was a kidnap of the lead pair, with Khushi and then Mamiji hunting for where Arnav is. After some time however, you start getting bored with the same stuff happening over and over again.
Now, finally after what seems a long time, the story is reaching a climax. Khushi and NK have found and got confirmed that Shyam is the one behind the kidnap and are trying to get more information on what is happening. Shyam on the other hand is happy that he had managed to get Khushi to get Arnav to sign to the will where Shyam would be the sole executor of the will, in control of everything.
While doing this investigation of Shyam, Khushi and NK have an embarrassing moment when they are trying to get the password for a pen drive owned by Shyam, and realize that Shyam has the password as 'ILOVEKHUSHI'. NK did not know about this love that Shyam had for Khushi and is shocked, but she manages to explain it. Now, in order to unlock the drive, they need for Shyam to repeat the password, so Khushi goes to Shyam so that she can get him to repeat the phrase and they can see what is in the pen drive - which is a copy of the will. 

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Daljeet quitting, was playing Anjali

The show is seemingly a bit stretched nowadays. It took a number of episodes to indicate that Arnav, who was supposedly off to England and Scotland had not left, and was instead in the same city, having been kidnapped. It took Khushi some time to convince people in the house that Arnav was not where he was supposed to have been, and found out the location where he had been kept after being kidnapped. She was also caught in the same location, and both of them managed to escape from there, but were trapped again. In order to prevent Khushi from being caught again, Arnav gives himself up and goes back with the kidnappers.
In the meantime, Khushi, along with Mami reaches the spot again where Arnav is being kept, wanting to identify the people responsible, and especially the leader of the plot. By now Khushi suspects that the plot leader is Shyam, and finds some clues in the house that could lead to Shyam being responsible.
In the critical part, now Shyam is in front of the kidnapper and could find out who the person is, although the serial is taking its own time in showing who the kidnapper leader is. It is being speculated that in the future, Shyam will try to fire at Arnav, and it will be Khushi who will be hit. When Anjali gets to know, she will be horrified, and this will be her exit from the serial, not sure whether she will be replaced from the serial with another character, or her character will be removed from the serial.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doo - Kshushi and Mamiji trying to find evidence of Arnaav being imprisoned

The serial has gone into a sort of slow mode. The main lead of the serial is on vacation, and hence the need to fill in stuff in such a way that they can make his disappearance look logical, and one interesting way is to show him as being kidnapped. So that is the serial story right now - Arnaav was supposed to head out to England and Scotland, but things start getting more suspicious, with no news for some time until Arnaav phones and says that he is in a region with low connectivity (which should be suspicious, since connectivity all over the world, especially in western countries is far more).
Over a period of time, Kshushi finally managed to convince Mamiji that Arnaav has indeed been kidnapped; Kshushi tries to find information from the airport but is not able to do so since the airport officials do not show her any CCTV tapes without her having some authority to do so.
However, there is a comical sequence where Mamiji (dressed in black like a detective) along with Khushi go to a house to see the tapes of the airport where they are able to see Arnaav going away from the airport with some people, but the faces of the people cannot be seen. However, this is all they are able to see, and then there is an issue with the guard but they still manage to escape from there. Once back, Khushi is getting suspicious that Shyam may have had something to do with the kidnapping.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Khushi starting to tease Arnav, and winning

The serial got a bit serious in between when they showed a lot of tension over the sudden and shocking marriage between Khushi and Arnav; this marriage, at the same time as the marriage between Payal and Akash, was done primarily because Arnav wanted to prevent any harm to Anjali, caused by her husband Shyam. However, nobody was told of the real reason, and which caused huge harm to Khushi, since that meant that everybody else blamed her for this sudden decision, and tried to reduce their contact with her.
However, this was too serious for the makers of the serial, and they showed how Khushi managed to make up with almost every of her relatives, through the sheer power of her personality and pleasing nature. She made up with her sister Payal, made up with her family, and also got done the incredible task of ensuring that Nani also participated in the Holi festivities. However, there was always the presence of Shyam in the house which caused a lot of tension to Khushi, and she could not tell anybody about it; further there was the chance that Arnav would see them in a position that could cause him to be suspicious, causing from problems to Khushi.
However, finally Khushi has decided to try and make some changes in Arnav, and is consulting a list of thing to do that will make Arnav become crazy; so she starts washing her clothes in the pool; she starts singing in such a way that makes him mad; she occupies the bathroom for so long that he worries about how late he is getting; she collaborates with Anjali so that she gets space in the cupboard for her clothes, and so on. Interesting.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - The sudden marriage of Khushi and Arnav shocks everybody

During the time when the pre-marriage ceremonies of Akash and Payal are happening, there was a lot of other drama happening in the house. Arnav had seen Shyam and Khushi in a way that he thought that they were both in love with each other, and after a conversation with Shyam, he was further convinced that both of them were responsible for his sister getting cheated; and further, if his sister Anjali was not pregnant, he would have ensured that this would not have continued. However, he had to ensure that his sister did not suffer because of this, and as a result, he had to ensure that Shyam stayed with his sister and did not have a chance to try for Khushi again.
So what did he do ? He decided that the best way to ensure that Khushi was no longer available for Shyam, and towards that effect, he decided that marrying Khushi would be the solution. Now, it is not that Khushi would be immediately ready to marry him at such short notice. So, he decided to use force, by threatening Khushi that unless she agreed to marry him quickly, he would ensure that the marriage of Payal and Akash did not happen, and this would mean a disaster for Khushi's sister Payal. In the end, faced with this tough choice, Khushi agreed to this and they got married in a temple and came to the marriage of Akash and Payal like this.
This was a shock to everybody in the family, and they had a lot of queries about this. However, Arnav walked away, refusing to answer any queries, even when they were asked by Anjali. And then, when Khushi is asked, she refused to also answer even though she is deeply stressed, and has to bear the anger of everybody, including that of her own sister Payal. Further, she is reminded that she was actually an orphan, and that relations with her are being broken off.
She tries to get answers from Arnav as to why he was trying to do that, but there is no answer that she is getting from Arnav, and is very stressed at all this.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Arnaav sees Shyam and Khushi together and is shocked

Both Anjali and Shyam seem to be leading charmed lives. Shyaam is desperately in love with Khushi, and wants to get rid of his Rani Sahiba (Anjali) while everybody else believes that Shyam is the ideal husband for Anjali, and that relations between them are excellent; and even Anjali believes the same. This is somewhat surprising since a wife is normally able to understand whether her husband is for her or against her.
So Shyaam is trying a number of attempts to murder Anjali, in a way that it seems like an accident. Some of the ways he is trying is to electrocute her, get her in an accident by failing the brakes of the car, putting a scorpion on her when she is sleeping, trying to get her to burn to death, and so on. However, all these measures don't really amount to anything, with Anjali seeming to lead a charmed life and not getting affected by any of these measures.
Shyaam is also leading a charmed life, since all these attempts do not draw any suspicion on him, and even Anjali does not suspect anything. Further, even though everybody in Payal's family already knows all about Shyaam, they are not saying anything, something which should be scaring Shyaam.
Things really start heating up when Shyaam manages to catch Khushi on the roof of the house, since he wants to express his love again to Khushi. On the other side, when Arnaav sees that Anjali just managed to come out of the car accident, he realizes that he should not wait for things, and if he loves Khushi, he should express his love to her right away. However when he sees her, he sees Shyaam hugging Khushi and hears a conversation where he starts to believe that both Khushi and Shyaam are deceiving everybody, and blames both of them.
However, he is not able to tell Anjali the truth, and still wants to ensure that Shyaam is not able to desert Anjali, and thus he will actually marry Khushi (but in a hate relationship) so that Shyaam is not able to desert Anjali for Khushi, especially if Anjali is now pregnant with Shyaam's child.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Arnaav and Khushi are getting closer

As the preparations for the wedding of Payal and Akash are getting closer, things are moving in many different ways. On the one side, there are some disturbances, where when Manorama learns that Payal had a previously broken engagement, she gets very angry and wants to break the engagement. She in turn gets scolded by the elders about doing something like this, and Akash, who badly wants to marry Payal, tries his best to ensure that things are fine. He is also confident that as long as his brother Arnaav is on his side, everything will be fine.
As for Arnaav, he is on another plane now. He suddenly seems to have developed a strong sense of passion for Khushi, such as when he thought that Khushi might have been in an accident, he is very distressed, and then the relief he gets when he learns that Khushi is fine, and there is nothing wrong. At this stage, Khushi is very surprised to see about the feelings that Arnaav is expressing, and wants to know why he is so worried about her.
And then the incident about the bangles. When NK got her some bangles, they did not fit properly and got broken. Arnaav removed these bangles and handed her some new bangles, and Khushi has been curious ever since as to whether it was the cold Arnaav who bought these bangles for her, and she had to literally force him to answer this question of hers. On the other hand, Anjali has been seeing what is happening with regard to Arnaav, and smiling about this infatuation of her brother's.
On the other hand there is Shyam, who is constantly trying some scheme whereby he can kill his wife Anjali in the form of an accident, so that he can then get married to Khushi (which is extremely strange, what makes him think that Khushi will get married to him). Nobody so far is aware of this.

The serial shows the life of a young woman called Khushi, and her confused relationship with the business tycoon Arnav. Kshushi is a young woman, idealistic and wanting the best for everybody. She really likes her family, and can be very emotional. Arnav on the other hand is a hard nosed man who does not believe in emotions, for him life is all about deal making.
Khushi has an elder sister Payal whose engagement earlier broke off because of dowry, although Khushi also feels herself responsible for some of that since she was going to speak to the groom, but instead landed up in Arnav's fashion show by mistake. However, Payal did not hold her responsible for the break-up of the marriage and the 2 sisters are very close.
Khushi did not like Arnav, but when Arnav challenged her to work for him, she decided to take on the challenge and work for him for a month. Slowly, as you would expect in such a serial, the distances between them would become less, and they would start getting attracted to each other. Arnav on the other hand is also engaged to a girl named Lavanya, who is slowly starting to get aware that maybe Arnav is feeling something for Khushi.
Arnav has an elder cousin called Aakash who saw Payal and fell in love with her and wants to marry her (although his mother is not no agreeable since she wants her son to marry somebody of his status, somebody from a rich family). Initially, Payal refused Aakash, so Khushi and Arnav decide to plot a way to get Payal to feel for Aakash, and they succeed. Arnav also has a sister called Anjali, who was attached by polio when she was a child. She is married to Shyam, who is a shifty character. Shyam was attracted to Khushi and pretended to her family that he was unmarried and wanted to marry Khushi, but finally his truth is out.
