Hindi TV Serial - Qubool Hain - Razia exposed to everyone at home

The serial has been showing suspense for quite some time. The way in which Razia has been holding Babi Bi hostage and in a drugged state inside the house was getting boring and frustrating for viewers, and the new episode of how Humeira lost her memory and thought that she was a married lady called Rajni, and then the emergence of a crook called Vikram, was making the story very boring, and the serial was feeling stretched. Finally the makers of the serial used the occasion of the holy day of Eid to solve some of these problems and do disclosure. Another major suspense that was going on for some time was the puzzle of who was the father of Zoya, who was brought up as an orphan, even though her father was alive. Zoya had come to India, away from her adopted family, to hunt for her family, and this hunt was shown for many many months, with suspense from time to time, but feeling very stretched. Over a period of time, the viewers were shown that the father was Siddiqui, and both his wife Razia and Tanveer knew about this. Razia was determined to ensure that neither Zoya nor Sidduiqi got to know about this, and Tanveer was using this knowledge to get Zoya out of her way, so that she could marry Asad.
And then came the occasion of Eid, and an Eid party that Asad was giving. Since this was an Eid party, Rashid and his family, as well as Siddiqui and his family were all attending the party. In addition, there were some stories ongoing. The marriage of Nikhat was in deep trouble; she was in love with Imran, but his mother was determined to ensure that she played the role of a dominating mother-in-law. They had a lot of demands, although Rashid had met all of them. However, at the end, she wanted Rashid to give gold coins to all her relatives, and at this, Rashid received. She raised a lot of furore at this, and even made many negative reference to the looks of Nikhat, but then finally Nikhat stepped in and told that she would rather drop the marriage than keep on meeting more such demands. Finally the marriage was off, although Nikhat was deeply troubled that her fiancee, Imran did not anything to oppose his mother. So for now the relationship is over. However, Imran has his own problems, since he had an existing relation with Najma (a big complication, since Najma is the sister of Nikhat, both being the daughter's of Rashid). And of course, it turns out that there is also the involvement of Tanveer, with Imran being the father of her child; and Tanveer is now blackmailing him for the same. As a result, the character of Imran is now depicted as being pretty bad.
The biggest story was about the downfall of Razia. Razia had involved the guy impersonating Vikram (the assumed husband of Humeira / Rajni) in her plan of getting rid of BadiBi (she caught him stealing from the house while he saw her taking an unconscious BadiBi out of the house). By mistake, Badibi was in the same car that was taking Siddiqui to the party in Asad's house, and there Razia was trying her best to hide BabiBi from everyone. But Asad and Zoya saw something suspicious; and then in another story, Vikram had taken Humeira to a different place where he was trying to rape her, and Ayyan came there and beat up Vikram. At that time, there was a call from Razia to his phone about trying to take away BadiBi, and this was recorded. As a result, overall, BadiBi was found and she also revealed that Razia was the one who was doing all this to her. At this, Rashid went ballistic, and told Siddiqui that he wanted justice, and Siddiqui promised him the same once they reached home. There, finally Rashid said that he wanted Razia to see the same pain as he had felt separated from his mother, and she was sent off to a prison kind of home, where she will apparently face some rough treatment, although how this happened is not clear.
A good thing for Zoya at this party was that she finally found that her father was alive, since she used the musical toy music on the speaker system, and then found that somebody had placed the twin of that toy on the table, and nobody could do that except her father.

Hindi TV Serial - Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha - Finally Munna arrested, Megha identifies him as Addu

There is a recent news report that the serial is losing some of its TRP's, and that is partly because the interaction between the lead pair of Mohan and Megha, which was the high point of the serial were getting diluted due to the other stories that were happening in the serial, including that of Navika and Beera, and that of Munna / Addu. So there will be lesser focus on these characters, and more focus again on Mohan and Megha (but that seems a bit off, how often can you only keep on focusing on the lead pair, you need to have stories of the other characters, especially the lead pair, to ensure that there is enough turnover in the storyline, else you will get a serial as slow as Saraswatichandra, which has one story that would continue for 6 months or more).
Munna (who is actually Addu) has promised to take revenge on Mohan for his belief that he was a bad step-father, and it was because of him that Addu had to run away from home, and got kidnapped and fell into this entire racket of crime and kidnapping. So he has been trying for quite some time to do ill on Mohan, and finally managed to get Mohan to jail. However, when the doctor of the mental institution was coming to give evidence in favor of Mohan, Munna tried to shoot him. At this, Beera started fighting him to prevent Munna from stopping the doctor, and finally the doctor's evidence was enough to get Mohan bail and out of jail.
In Daddaji's house, they finally tell Beera that Daddaji is actually a hard core criminal, the one who runs the racket of kidnapping kids, and that Munna is one of his chief workers. Beera is shocked, since he does not know about this, and tells Daddaji that he will reveal this truth to everybody and ensure that the name of Daddaji as the face of this racket comes out in front of everyone, and that he is leaving the house right now. Ragini does not come with him because of her association with Munna, although Beera does tell her that she is making the wrong choice.
Due to the efforts of Beera, the police come and arrest Daddaji, and are set of arrest Munna. But he has run away, and to the surprise of everyone, Mohan tries to prevent the arrest of Munna, but police follow soon after and try to arrest Munna. Munna runs off in a police jeep, but then Megha stands in his way and he has to stop to prevent hitting her. So finally Megha and Munna are in front of each other, and when police say that somebody has to do the identification of Munna, Megha speaks up and says that he is a kidnapper, and is also Aditya Bhatnagar, her long lost son, but whom she no longer recognizes for what he has become.

Hindi TV Serial - Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha - Mohan finally out of jail, but Rimjhim gets to know about her adoption

It is right now a no holds barred fight between Mohan and Munna. Munna has been determined to ensure that Mohan is punished for what he did earlier in life to Munna and will go to any lengths for the same. In earlier attempts he once threatened Mohan over Rimjhim, and another time tried to get a car to run over him. In some of these cases where there was some problems, Beera played a big role in helping Mohan and Navika, and even brought them together by showing Navika how her constant statements of step-father was causing her to be distant from Mohan. This finally brought them together again.
Things got more confusing when Navika realized that she also loved Beera and agreed to get married to him although by that time Beera told her that he was frustrated at having to wait for so long, and was not sure. However, finally they agree to a marriage, but at the last minute, due to some conversations involving Munna and Ragini, Mohan realized that Beera was actually committing a fraud on them for taking revenge for whatever was done to Daddaji. Mohan hence refused to agree to the marriage right at the time of the actual rituals, but Navika managed to make him agree by telling him that she had full faith on Beera and that he would not betray her for anything.
However, at the same time, there was another drama going on. Munna was planning a further attack on Mohan and managed to persuade the real Munna's grandmother (living with Mohan as Addu) that her real child had been taken away by Mohan and got the police to come and arrest Mohan for child kidnapping. Things got more complicated, when Beera was told by Daddaji that the only way to get Mohan out of prison was by Beera telling Navika the truth about his intentions behind the marriage. By this time, Beera had turned good and in love with Navika, and for getting Mohan out of prison, he went and told Navika everything. She was shocked at what had happened.
However, getting Mohan out of jail was not so easy. While his bail proceedings were going on in court, there was the need to get the hospital doctor to testify that Addu was with for them 10 years, and finally, though Munna tried to shoot the doctor, Beera prevented him from doing that the doctor's testimony got Mohan bail and out of jail. However, by this time Navika was furious at Beera that he had done this to her and did not know that he was now really good.
At Daddaji's home, Beera tells Daddaji that he had done this since this was the condition for telling Navika the truth, and then Munna reveals that Daddaji actually used to kidnap small children and pass them on, and Daddaji also confirms this. Both Beera and Ragini were shocked at this, and Beera decides to leave although Ragini refuses to leave along with him.
The other important stuff that happens is that it gets revealed that Rimjhim was the adopted daughter of Mohan, and not his real daughter. She is shocked at this, and since Addu was taken away by his grandmother, she asks Mohan whether her real family would come and take her away.

Hindi TV Serial - Amita Ka Amit - Amita wins the total trust of her mother-in-law Falguni

Amita has been under a lot of trouble. There was the case of the file which was stolen by Tina and Ria to make it seem that Amit is irresponsible and so it seemed. Amit got into a lot of trouble over that missing file and his father scolded him a lot for that. Amit in turn blamed Amita for the missing file since she had done a lot of re-decoration of the room because of her belief in seeing that feng shui will make life better. Amita is very upset about where the file can be, and wants to search the entire house. Through a guise, she is able to look in the bedroom of Tina and gets a glimpse of the file, before Tina closes the almirah and scolds her for peeking in the clothes of others.
Amita is unfazed at this and decides to get more help, and tells Amit about this although he is reluctant to believe her. However, she insists and soon Tina calls Falguni, claiming that they were being insulted by the new bahu of the house who claims that Tina and Ria have stolen the important file. However, Falguni keeps a cool head and asks them as to why they just don't let her have a look. Finally, the cupboard is opened and there is no file there, although Amita is convinced that the file was there, but has to retreat. Amit continues to scold her.
In the end, Amita gets the file when Ria is dumping it in the waster bin, but Tina reaches there and blames Amita for everything and pins the blame on Amita. Amit is very upset over this entire matter, since it seems to show his father that he is careless.
In the next major incident, Falguni has given some priceless antique jewels to a jeweller but when she goes there, she realizes that she does not have any receipt and gets a shock when the manager of the shop and the jeweler's son have decided to steal those jewels and claim that she never got those. She is shocked and when back home, tells everything to Amita and not to others in the house. Amita takes responsibility for the loss of jewels and in the meantime is trying to get the jewels back using other tactics. The problem is, the jewels are needed the next day since they are required for a prayer, and Tina sees a great way to pin Amita down further. Amit has also given her another scolding.
The next day, Tina is enjoying the situation since the time for prayer has come, and Amita is not even there. However, Amita goes to the jeweler's shop and scares the manager and the owner's son by claiming that she knows the head of the market association and also, that since there are CCTV cameras, the police can detect who stole the jewels, and also the owner would be interested in knowing how the shop is being operated. She gets the jewels back, while at home, Falguni could not take the criticism of Amita and said that she was the to blame, and not Amita, and in the meantime, Amita also comes back with the jewels.

Hindi TV Serial - Sasural Simar Ka - Getting Jhumki to overcome all doubts

The serial is correctly following the pattern of many movies. There was a need for the bahu of the family who had died, and her death causes the family property and family business to go over to the villains. This causes the hero and heroine (who is also the sister of the bahu) to suddenly come across a girl who looks like the dead bahu. And of course, this new girl is from a totally new environment and different culture, so there are lots of chances of slip-ups, which also ensures that the serial will have a lot of chances to show a lot of drama.
So, Simar and Prem had managed to persuade Jhumki to come to the Bhardwarj family house to help all of them, and finally she agreed to do so, and also set some conditions. It was a challenge for Jhumki to learn all about Roli, about the family that she is going to live in, and about her relationships; all of this was something that Simar was trying to push into her and it is not easy for somebody to suddenly forget their basic culture, and remember everything that they were told to remember and do.
This was a big blow to the plans of Veeru and Khushi; for them, it was the death of Roli that caused all of this property to back to their name, and if Roli is living, then they have no claim on anything. So, they cannot believe that Roli is alive, and it is a bit difficult overall once you have known that somebody has died to believe that the person has come back to life, even further since this will mean that their plans are all blown out of the water. Towards this end, both Veeru and Khushi decide that they will not move out of the house although Siddharth and Prem wants to kick them out of the house - it is Mataji who stops them; and this is probably one of the first times that one of the children raised any objections to what Mataji said. They said that she keeps on stopping any action against Veeru and Khushi, and all of this can cause problems.
The rest of the family does not know that Roli is not back, instead they also believe that Roli has come back. The truth about Roli / Jhumki is known only to Prem and Simar, and for some reason, they are not telling the rest of the family about this. This is causing problems, since if Roli is back, then there is no reason for her not to resume her relationship with Sid. After all, there were such a number of problems earlier relating to Naina and others, and it is time for them to resume this relationship and have a normal husband / wife relation. However, Simar is trying hard to prevent this, since she knows that this is not Roli.
Now, there will be more problems since there were certain ways that Roli did things, and Jhumki is certainly not going to do things the same way, especially at times of pressure.

Hindi TV Serial - Sasural Simar Ka - Again the family being kicked out of the house, trying to get Roli's lookalike

A very strange situation, but it seems like the serial is meant for showing sadness and despair, and is almost becoming like a hindi film. So, the death of Roli is clear, and this death is causing financial problems to the family. In addition to the emotional turmoil that was caused to Simar and Siddharth, and the rest of the family, the changes in the life of Roli were so fast after she had deceived Veeru and got him to give the property back to Roli that the papers were not properly registered. Because of this, Veeru shows up when the Bhardwarj family tried to get back to the house, Veeru claimed that he was the nominee and hence the property is theirs. Both Veeru and Khushi were very happy at this, and to cause humiliation to the family.
They give the family 36 hours to vacate the house, and also tell them many other things for further embarrassment. As usual, there are a lot of tears from everyone in the house because of all this going on, they have already lost their dutiful and loving daughter-in-law Roli. And then they also hear that Veeru and Khushi have no intention of living together, and since they cannot decide what to do with the house, they will sell the house and divide the money among themselves. Since the house has such an emotional connection with the family, they are even further distraught when they hear all this.
On the other hand, Simar and Prem are not there yet, and the family decide that they will wait for them to come back before they leave the house. They see a young girl, and since this is a hindi serial, you know that there will be a duplicate of Roli who will show up, and she will have a totally different background, and so it happens in this case. Simar sees somebody on the street who looks like her sister performing in a nautch girl kind of routine and trying to stop everybody over there, since she cannot stand to see her sister doing an act like that. On the other hand, the girl, called Jhumki, is not able to understand who Simar is, and why she is chasing after her screaming the name of Roli.
Finally Simar and Prem catch up with Jhumki, who is there with her younger brother, and Simar realizes that this girl is not her sister; she hugs her and realizes that there is no connection that she is making with this girl. Both Simar and Prem tell the girl about their situation, and the need they have of her coming with them and making the case that she was Roli and preventing Veeru and Khushi from kicking the family out of the house. Jhumki is reluctant, but finally agrees and lays down some conditions for the same, including a lot of money. Now, Jhumki has to learn a lot about Roli, her style, the people in the family, how they live, and it taker her some time, which makes Simar impatient. But finally she comes and starts preventing Veeru and Khushi from kicking the family out of the house.

Hindi TV Serial - Sasural Simar Ka - Simar finds Roli, but she does not really remember Simar

Like any other serial, the drama in any serial comes about because of suddenly making the serial go through twists and turns. In the case of the serial, it was because of the disappearance of Roli (who was presumed dead) and the appearance of Naina. Naina had framed Siddharth as if they had intimate relations and because of those relations, Naina now has a baby growing within her which belongs to Sid, and because of which, the baby is a Bhardwaj. Sid has been roundly berated by everyone, for a situation which happened when he was drunk, and because of which he believes that something has happened with Naina.
Because of the belief that Roli is dead, there is an understanding developing in the household that the marriage between Sid and Roli should happen so that the baby can get respect and protection. Khushi is the person behind all this, driving Naina to take various actions and also working within the house to ensure that the family starts working with Naina.
In the meantime Roli was in hospital with memory loss, with Veeru around. He wants to ensure that her family does not get to know that she was in hospital and alive, and as a result, tries to convince her that she and Veeru are together, continuing to make this effort. Finally, Roli agrees to this and leaves with Roli.
Simar in the meantime wants to try and find Roli and wants to do so before the wedding of Naina and Sid, since that would cause huge problems. Veeru in the meantime has told Roli that the memories of Simar that she is because Simar is her sister-in-law and is part of the plan to kill her.
Finally Simar manages to reach to where Roli is, and acts as one who applies mehendi to get inside the house and comes in front of Roli. However, Roli recognizes her but remembers that Veeru told her that Simar was trying to kill and her and screams. Simar tries to convince her, but Roli does not remember. Veeru searches for Simar after this, but is unable to find her.
Simar calls back home and tells them that she has found Roli, and this stops the marriage plans of Sid and Naina, although the question about the baby continues. The baby is continued to be offered full protection and responsibility. But when Simar and the rest of the family reach the house, the house is locked since Veeru has managed to take Roli from there.

Hindi TV Serial - Pavitra Rishta - Onir in deep trouble, his medical license cancelled by the court

Hindi Serials typically follow a principle where if you are doing a good deed, then you are in deep trouble. People don't understand what you are doing, and the makers of the serial believe that the serial succeeds only when they show deep pain, when they show people struggling, and so on. So it goes in this serial. The name of the serial is nothing like the nature of the relationships anymore. The name of the serial depicts a sacred relationship, while the relationships shown in the serial are mostly very much on the other side of sacred. There is a man forced to marry one girl while he loves another girl, and it turned out that he has a physical relationship with another girl, and now he is going to have children with both of them. The child he was having with his wife dies, and so the other girl decides to hand over her child to them, but without telling them that she is doing this. A son-in-law of the family is running an organ stealing racket and gets into a dispute with them, and then sees CCTV footage of the baby swap and figures out that he can use this to get his revenge. And so on .. this is what all that is happening in Pavitra Rishta. Maybe time for this serial to come to an end ?
Ever since Ovi learnt that the child was actually Arjun's and Purvi's and told everybody about the same, she was shocked and decided to leave Arjun (why she could not do this earlier when she knew about the intense love between Arjun and Purvi earlier is not clear). She now refuses to come back.
On the other hand, the revelation about the movement of Pari to Ovi had brought problems back to Onir and Purvi, and they are now embroiled in a court case about the same. Mittal, who badly wants his revenge, has decided to use this to get back his honor and prestige and gets Onir into a court case for the same. Soham is now defending Onir, but realizes that for this, he needs to get Arjun to come to court and defend whatever Onir had done, and this would make a deep impact on the case.
Arjun agrees, but is unable to get to court quickly enough, and the case gets decided by the judge, who orders that the decision of the court is to cancel the medical license of Onir for all time. This is a big shock for Onir, although Purvi is standing by Onir all the time. Mittal and Punni are happy over what happens and Manju blames Onir for whatever has happened although Sulochana still stands up for her. Manav is confused about whom to support, since he had also promised Purvi that she could call on him like a real father.

Hindi TV Serial - Qubool Hain - Asad still adamant on testifying against his father

The serial is keeping the story a bit twisting, although the big mystery seems to be getting closer to a resolution. For many days now, the serial has been twisting the story of why Rashid is under the domination of Razia, and why she keeps on scaring him with the story of revealing what happened 17 years back. And he knows that he will get in trouble when the story gets revealed, and hence he keeps on doing whatever Razia has been asking him to do. However, in the past few weeks, Rashid has been struggling with this domination, letting Razia know that he will no longer be dominated by her, supported by his mother and his son Ayyan who now believe that Razia only wishes them ill-will. They have been trying to get Rashid to accept that they should move out of the house, but Rashid was resisting this for a long time.
However, Razia played a master stroke by getting both son and father to be against each other, by getting both Rashid and Asad to be in the same place at the same other, and in such a way that Rashid was seen as removing the body of a lady from there by Asad. Asad also linked this to the attempt on the life of his mother, and hence sent off information to the police about this so that the inspector came and arrested Rashid when he was in the middle of an argument with police. Ayyan believes that this can be prevented by his brother Asad, but is extremely shocked when he learns that Asad was the one who filed the police complaint, and is the one behind the arrest; when he confronts Asad, Asad refused to back down even when Ayyan tries to play the brother game.
On the other hand, everybody in Asad's house opposes his decision to give testimony against his father, and Zoya also reminds him that she was also there and she will give a different testimony for the same. Asad is angry at this and says that he will support the truth no matter what happens. Zoya and Ayyan try methods to prevent him from getting to court, but Asad sees through all such efforts, including a comical scene when Ayyan appears in the form of a ghost holding a candle to stop them from proceeding, and Asad gives a very hard slap to the ghost which causes the ghost to run away.
But Asad and Zoya are getting closer, and Zoya is surprised by some recent utterances by Asad where it seems that Asad is in love with her; something that he admitted to her when they were closer together. Unfortunately for Zoya, when she gets in an accident, Asad comes there to the scene of the accident, and then hugs another lady in a form that appears romantic.

Hindi TV Serial - Qubool Hain - Conflict in the families as Asad gets his father sent to jail

The serial is getting a more complex story, although one advantage of the story is that it does not meander as much as other serials. The scenes move fast, and do not spend a lot of time in a particular situation, showing them ending and something new happening (much faster than the all time slow serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - which can move very very slowly indeed). In the particular case, the serial is closing to the entire story behind why Rashid divorced his first wife and married the second wife, and the reason why he can keep on getting pressured by Razia. From a lady who was seen as scheming, the character of Razia has been shown to be more and more evil. Now, she is seen as the one who is tormenting Rashid, forcing him to take actions that he does not like.
Asad is the one who is also shown as very dominating, and very powerful, given his status as a dynamic personality, who is a powerful businessman. So, Razia plays her cards very carefully. She knows that she has a power over Rashid because of the fear of revealing the crime committed by him during the fire at the doll factory over 17 years ago, but at the same time, Rashid is rebelling at this control, and she needs to play some more cards.
So, what better than to frame him again. So she plots a scheme whereby Rashid goes back to the doll factory to hide evidence of the supposed crimes (murder) of 17 years back, and Asad is tricked into also going there some time later. So when Asad reaches there, he can see Rashid apparently handling a dead body, and the linkage comes in that this was the secret that caused Rashid to do a number of antics, including pressuring Rashid to try to commit murder on his ex-wife Dilshad. This makes Asad very angry, since he now believes that his father is trying to kill his mother, and this is something that he cannot tolerate, so he tells Rashid that he will fight him and make sure that he pays for his crime.
On the other hand Rashid has realized that this attempt to frame him must be caused by Razia and comes home to confront her, and then the police comes in and arrests Rashid. When Ayyan claims that his brother Asad will come in and save Rashid from going to jail, the inspector laughs and says that the complaint in fact came from Asad himself, something that shocks Ayyan and everybody else over there. He later confronts Asad, but is unable to shake Asad from promising to testify in court about what he saw. He gets angry at Asad and tells Asad that he is taking revenge on Rashid rather than being honest.
Zoya on the other hand is going through some trouble, since seeing fire is bringing back some bad memories, and also causing her nightmares. She also gets somewhat confused about the attitude of Asad, since he seems to be arrogant at one side, and very caring on the next instant (he shocks her by telling her that he would be devastated if something happened to her). Now, they are looking for a doll which apparently recorded something from 17 years back which would cause Rashid to seem innocent.

Hindi TV Serial - Qubool Hain - Razia being the schemer behind everything

Asad was very angry with Zoya, since he felt that it was her action of not sending Mariam away from the house when he told her so that caused an attack on his mother; an attack that almost killed him. In fact, in his anger (when in the hospital and told by doctors that she may not survive), he even hit Zoya when she came to express her sorrow. And in his harshness, he spoke badly to her causing Zoya great distress. She tried to tell him that she was not responsible, but he did not listen to her. It was only when his mother was pronounced out of danger and she spoke to him, that he learned that it was not Zoya who was responsible for Mariam being in the house when his mother was shot. It was his mother in fact who brought Mariam back and then the intruder broke in and shot his mother. He did apologize to Zoya later for this, and soon were back to normal between them, taunting each other and so on.
The shooting of Dilshad is causing a huge amount of tension, including in the family of Rashid. Badibi was very suspicious about the behavior of Razia and finally caught something that Razia said where she mentioned that Dilshad was shot. Badibi asked Razia that it was only mentioned that Dilshad was injured with it not being mentioned anywhere that Dilshad was shot, so how did Razia know that Dilshad was shot. Badibi asked this question in front of everybody, causing great distress to Razia, since she was not immediately able to answer this question. Finally Razia made some drama about this being shown in the TV news, and that is how she managed to come away.
By this everybody in the family is very suspicious about what had happened, and then Badibi confronts Razia outside about what happened, and Razia admits to her that she was behind the attempt on the life of Dilshad; this is something that Badibi comes inside the house and tells everybody; and then Razia changes the discussion by feigning as if Babibi made an attempt on her life. So, there is a lot of doubt about what happened with regard to the attack, and so forth. And the connection to a mystery of a fire that happened 17 years back, from when Rashid is being blackmailed.
At the same time, Zoya remembered that while struggling with the intruder, she caught some part of his dress, and she and Asad search for that article outside the house. They finally find it, which is a fragment of cloth, and they are able to narrow this down to some members of a security company, trying to determine who was the actual person who was behind the attack.

Hindi TV Serial - Balika Vadhi - Sakranti and also Jagya takes Ganga to hospital

The serial has been moving a bit slowly for some time now, concentrating on the kite flying and other events on the occasion of Sakranti, a big festival. Anandi managed to prevent annoyance and disappointment at both sets of relatives, by doing Sakranti celebrations at both sets of relatives. First, in the morning and afternoon, they traveled to the place of Shiv's parents and ensured that Shiv's mom felt better, she was upset earlier that Dadisa had made the arrangements for Sakranti at her house and all the arrangements made at Shiv's place would now be wasted - they gave her a surprise by coming there and spending a number of hours over there.
And then the rest of the afternoon and the evening was to be spent at Dadisa's haveli, with a large portion of the time to be spent on kite-flying. There were some challenges in the kite flying because of multiple people challenging each other, such as the challenge that Madan was posing, and then the kite flying challenge between Jagya and Shiv (the challenge was more between Nandu and Sanchi, with both of them claiming that their brother was a better kite flyer and would defeat the other very easily). The contest went on for some time, and then in the end, Jagya decided to give up the challenge, letting Shiv cut his kite string (although Shiv managed to make out that Jagya had not lost, but had instead dropped the game and willingly given up the game).
The other major drama that was happening was with regard to Ganga; at the earlier location where Jagya was hiding and was being a doctor at the local health center, he had noticed Ganga once when she was being chased by her husband, and then when she had come in for an inspection, Jagya noticed that her mouth was taped shut. He finally found out the story that she had been taken in for producing an heir to a rich family, and was then treated as a servant once a boy was born. Jagya tried to get her to fight for her rights, but at that time, he was not able to do anything much.
Now, at the occasion of Sakranti, Ganga was ready to run away when she found that they were now ready to kick her out and keep her son; she finally ran away along with her son, and they were chasing after her (including a bus she had taken to Jetsar). They finally managed to get her and took away her son, while beating her up. This was seen from the haveli and Jagya managed to get her to the hospital from there, while also asking Shiv to accompany him (since Shiv was a collector).

Hindi TV Serial - Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon - Balrak makes his move, finally killed by his former wife

The serial was highlighting the emergence of Balraj, the father of Trishna and Madhu and the ex-wife of Padmini, who suddenly came back into the lives of all these people. Many many years back, Balraj used to torture his wife and also treated his daughters very badly, and finally they managed to escape from his with the help of Malick. And then, when RK was looking for somebody to do the production of a movie which would launch Trishna (and do it in a way that Trishna would not know that it was RK who was behind all this), he and his assistant Bitto found Balraj who was a maverick (although they do not know his background, not is it shown as to why specifically Balraj was suitable for this role). He is almost shown to be out of control, once even eating the food prepared by Madhu for RK, something for which RK was very angry, but at the same time, showing Balraj as not really caring about what others (even including the superstar RK) think about his actions.
Next, Madhu and RK plan a technique that will finally bring Padmini and Malick much closer to each other, to the extent that they will finally decide to get married (something which they initially oppose); in the course of this effort, RK falsely tells Padmini that something has happened to Malick, and for which he gets slapped by Padmini (and the others are shocked, since they cannot visualize somebody slapping the superstar RK). However, RK keeps at it and finally they agree to get married, making everybody else very happy as well.
In the meantime, Balraj gets to know about this marriage and decides that he must also get involved, since he cannot visualize something like this happening; just before the marriage, Padmini has a nightmare where Balraj lands up in the house and kills Malick and then kills the others. However, she wakes up, and is very scared about this.
Roma gets to see Balraj dressed as if he is going for a marriage, but is kidnapped before she can warn the others. Balraj finally goes to the marriage location with his hoodlums, and pulls off a few stunts and then the police gets there and stops everything. RK also gets injured in all this activity. However, even when the police has caught him, Balraj manages to get hold of a gun and puts it to the head of Madhu, and is then shot by Padmini. Since she has shot Balraj, the police arrest Padmini while RK needs to be taken to hospital because of the blood loss. However, in the court case, the entire history of Balraj is laid out and Padmini is exonerated in terms of self defense.

Hindi TV Serials - Sasural Simar Ka - Roli is staking everything to get back the family property

The serial is going through a high dose of drama, although this particular series has been going on for a long time. The actress playing Khushi must be so happy, since she has a got a powerful and important role in the serial for a matter of so many weeks. Khushi, so much unlike her name, is out to totally control the house, and in fact has been managing to do that for some time now. She has the house and riches in her name, and makes the others in the family do what she wants, including doing household chores, humiliating them anytime she wants, and even re-naming the family sweets shop (something that made the rest of the family very angry).
In order to stop this from continuing, and in order to get the family riches back from Khushi, Roli decides to play the same kind of trick. She starts to attract the attention of Veeru, since she figures that is the way to get Khushi to do something. So she changes her dresses, becomes more modern, and starts going to the disco at night (when her husband and others in the family are not awake - only mausiji knows what Roli is trying to do and is supporting her at this).
Over a period of time, Roli gets closer to Veeru, and she keeps on taunting him about how he has nothing, it is all Khushi and in fact if Khushi so decides, Veeru has nothing. Veeru gets angry at this and decides to get everything from Khushi by tricking her to sign the document which will transfer everything. However, he also has a condition to Roli, that he will only do this if she signs a divorce with Siddharth, and then only do the document stuff to get everything from Khushi.
This is something that is a shocker for Roli, she genuinely loves Siddharth and this will also mean that others in the family will get to know. In between, we are all exposed to a continuing series of tears from Simar since she does find out that Roli is going out, and doing other stuff that the family members do not know about. And then comes the divorce petition where Roli convinces everybody that she is doing this seriously since she is tired of living like a good bahu, she wants more in life and so on. Finally Simar gets to know the truth, but they still need to go ahead with this move. In between Siddharth has to leave for 3 days and Roli hopes that everything will be fine when he comes back.

Hindi TV Series - The police torture shown in serials

There are a number of serials on in TV that seek to show crime in our streets, and the solution of such cases. Some of these serials are Crime Patrol, CID (which is fictional but still shows some kind of working of an investigative agency), Savdhan India (on Life Ok) and some others. All of them do some kind of service to citizens, since they show the nature of crime that happens nowadays and also suggests ways to prevent such crimes from affecting some of us.
Some of these situations are preventable, while others are not preventable. For example, the episode I am watching right now deals with the situation where an old lady gets killed soon after doing a property deal, and her body is not found for a few days. She did not have any enemies as such, and it took the police some time to find out who did it. One of the prime causes was that she was not careful about where she mentioned the money she was getting from the property deal (in cash), and by accident, somebody heard it aloud and knew where to catch her and take the money and get rid of her. So one prime learning is to never mention such money in front of people who you do not fully trust (although some episodes have shown crimes committed by family members, which makes the trust position very difficult). The other of course is not to handle large amounts of cash, instead deal in bank transfers or checks.
The other major issue that keeps on coming up is about police torture. These serials keep on showing police doing torture, trying to determine the true doer of the crime. Now, torture or beating up of victims is not allowed as per numerous court judgments, and it is the law of the land, and 3rd degree interrogation is not allowed at all. However, the serials show that since they are trying to determine the true accused, all this is fine. Even when you watch the serials, you can see that people get beaten up by the police even when they are innocent, just so that they try to get information.

Hindi TV Serial - CID - a 4 episode sequence where ACP Pradyuman resigns

For some time, there has been an ongoing story going on about how the character (Shivaji Satam) playing ACP Pradyuman has resigned from the serial, which would be a surprise since the serial has been going on for a very long time and the ACP along with Senior Inspectors Abhijeet and Daya are the main characters of the serial. And for some time now, the serial has also been showing the DCP, DCP Chitroley, who has been against the ACP but has not really been able to take any action against him since the success rate of the CID has been pretty good and the team has been entirely supportive.
However, in a complicated case involving marriages, a marriage bureau, a bride who has been running away, and smuggling of girls, the serial after a long time shows conflict in terms of the ACP resigning from the service (or rather, being forced to resign from the service since the DCP shows a video that would show the ACP running away from a girl who gets killed in a bomb blast - this is shown as cowardice by the ACP and he is also not willing to explain what happened - even to his own team). The DCP finally manages to get what he wanted, his own choice of ACP but the team is not very cooperative, and his choice of ACP is also not somebody who is able to inspire the team.
So, the 4 episode series starts with a bride in full bridal dress in a car, trying to escape from some people and using a gun to get the car stopped. She is pursued by some people and is then saved by the ACP who drops her off at the entrance of her housing colony. When the ACP goes there the next night, he is not able to locate her or anybody who has heard of her, causing all his suspicions to get raised, and then the investigation is started. And soon after, there is an explosion and the DCP comes with a video that shows the ACP running away; something that causes surprise to the team but they have still full faith in him. And then starts an investigation where Pradyuman is working in the marriage bureau that is the place of suspicion, and the team in the CID is also trying to figure out what happened. Finally, the ACP and the team manage to prevent the girls from being smuggled, and he comes back to the CID as a hero.

Hindi TV Serial - Saathiya - Finally Ahem manages to escape, Gopi gives birth

For more than a week now, the serial has been showing a level of crime that was not seen in the serial earlier. The earlier problems caused by Urmila and Rashi was never at this level, this is a life and death situation that was depicted. The family had a partner called Aman for a plant in Bhuj, and then, as Gopi was getting closer to the delivery date, a major problem occurred. Ahem did not appear for a party where he was supposed to come directly, and after a couple of hours, everybody was very worried. When Aman was contacted, he was equally concerned and stated that he would use all his resources to find out what happened and take action appropriately. At the same time, he told the family members that there was no need to inform the police and that he had contacts with different sources including the police and Aman would take the required action. The family members went along with this.
And then Gopi went out to get any information on Ahem, in a very emotional state. She was soon out of contact from the rest of the family, and in her heavily pregnant condition, was roaming around the desert region, and in a twist, came into contact with a young camel who was seemingly separated from the rest of the family. And Jigar was also out searching for both Ahem and Gopi. And to make matters worse, Kokila became very ill, feeling the pangs of separation from Ahem and Gopi.
Then the family members finally went to the police station, led by the ill Kokila, in order to find out progress, and were very surprised to see that the police denied all knowledge, that the name of the inspector given by Aman was false, and that the police had no knowledge of Aman filing any kind of complaint. They soon put two and two together, and concluded that Aman would be the one behind the kidnapping of Ahem and got the people to investigate. In the meantime, Ahem was able to run away once, but was caught, and then managed to run away again. Aman had threatened Ahem that he would hurt Gopi if Ahem did not agree to sign the papers that Aman wanted Ahem to sign. Finally, when Ahem was able to run away, he was running away from the gang, towards the same bus in which Jigar and Gopi were traveling, and then in a quick climax, Jigar and Ahem were able to beat up the gang members and then Gopi gave birth over there.
One problem remains that Koki was in a critical condition, and it is expected that the news of the baby, Ahem and Gopi would be able to revive her.

Hindi TV Serial - Bade Ache Lagte Hain - Ram shot while trying to save Priya

In 2 recent hour long episodes running on Sony TV, the serials Bade Ache Lagte Hain and Kya Hua Tera Vaada saw some changes in the storyline of the serial. However, this changeline was more in the case of Kya Hua Tera Vaada and less so for the case of Bade Ache Lagte Hain; since the person behind the transformation was Anushka Sarkar from Kya Hua Tera Vaada. In the case of Bade Acche Lagte Hain, the serial was also going through some drama, but not of the same scale. The shooting by Anushka was at a party thrown by Rajat and Vineet, and the need for the party was because Rajat's business partnership with Ram was getting broken.
The reason for the relationship getting broken was because Ram was getting more and more bothered about the relationship between Rajat and Priya. Even though Ram had always known that Priya had loved him truly, he was getting more and more bothered since he knew that Rajat was madly in love with Priya, and the fact that Rajat was helping Priya in the custody case (including discussions with the lawyer and the effort to ensure that Priya had a strong financial backing) embittered him towards Rajat. It got so bad that he started turning against Rajat, speaking badly to him, breaking his business relationship with Rajat. However, this did not change Rajat's support for Priya.
And then the shooting happened. Ram stepped in to try and prevent Anushka from firing her gun, and in the struggle he was shot (after which Pradeep was shot a bit later). He was rushed to hospital with Priya in the ambulance and was then treated until it was clear that he was out of danger. However, it seems that Ram will remain bitter, atleast in the promos where he speaks bitterly to Rajat, and it is not sure whether anything will change; one thing that will change is the relationship between Rajat and Priya, since Rajat admitted before everybody that he was madly in love with Priya.

Hindi TV Serial - Pradeep dies after being shot by Anushka, leap to happen (update: not yet dead, operation successful)

Over the past few weeks, the serial has been taking a strange shift. Viewers were earlier puzzling about what the story line will be when the 2 different stories move to their own track, the story of Mona with Vineet and Anushka with Pradeep. The marriages for both of them were planned, and since this is a story, both could be planned for the same time with the parents having to worry about which marriage they will attend.
And then things suddenly turn into a very different direction. The serial shows an old lover of Anushka turning up, and then they show her to become more and more negative (since earlier she was shown as scheming and arrogant, but now shown as somebody who has defrauded her earlier company and eventually as a murderer).
Due to a turn of events where she is being blackmailed by her previous lover (who is shown as claiming that he is still her husband since they never had a divorce), finally she snaps, and in the midst of a fight with him, kills him by accident by whacking him on the head with a hard vase. However, and this is where they show her to be even more negative, Pradeep walks in soon after and is accused of the murder, and yet Anushka is now shown as doing anything to get him off the murder charge, in fact, if he is convicted, nobody will accuse her.
It is Mona who takes charge of getting Pradeep proved innocent, and she works at trying to get evidence that will do this, and finally is able to get evidence, and yet Anushka finds out about this evidence and in fact kills the lady who provided this evidence to Mona (Anushka got into a scuffle and the gun went off killing the other lady). By this time Anushka has almost gone off her mental balance and decides to kill Mona and starts for the party where Mona has gone (Vineet is having a partnership with Rajat (from Bade Ache Lagte Hain) and they have a party to announce this). At this party, things get stranger. Anushka arrives with the gun, and tries to kill Mona after first shooting Ram who got into a scuffle with her, and then tries to kill Mona. However, Pradeep arrives first and stands in the way of the shot and is killed by her. Ram is in serious danger, but is then declared out of danger. Now as expected the show will take a leap and move to a future that is around 8-9 years.

Hindi TV Serial - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Shyaam finally exposed to Anjali

The serial just ended up one of its mechanisms for showing villains and drama. Till now, the serial used to be able to spend a significant amount of time showing something or the other that Shyaam used to do and the impact of those actions. So, Shyaam was the one who was trying different methods of killing Anjali earlier, he was the one who was trying to get married to Khushi while married to Anjali, he was the one who had kidnapped Arnav, he was the one who came back into the house through the method of creating a drama by harming Anjali and then pretending that he was the one who could support Anjali.
The biggest mistake he did was to allow Arnav to see that there were cameras hidden inside the house, and towards that end, Arnav and Khushi were then able to see inside Shyam's laptop while keeping Shyam busy elsewhere, and there they were able to see something that made them very angry. They knew that Shyam could do anything, but in the videos, they were able to see that Shyaam was the one who did a sequence of steps that lead to Anjali falling down and losing her baby, and this knowledge horrified them. They could not leave Anjali in the company of Shyam after that and it was necessary that Anjali got to know the truth.
So, they found a occasion and decided to do a drama, and in the middle of the drama, started indicating what had happened and then showed the video clips that proved that there was a lot done to harm Anjali and her baby; and this together with the overall drama somehow caused Shyam to burst out the truth about what he had done. And this finally led Anjali to believe that Shyam was the main culprit and she slapped him.
