Hindi TV Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Naitik very angry since he feels family is stopping him

For some time, while the real life actor playing Naitik was getting married, the serial lowered the load on him by showing him as getting married. However, now that he has more time on his hands and is back from the marriage, Naitik is shown as getting up from the coma. However, unlike in the movies where a person can get up from a coma and start doing physical fighting, the serial shows the reality that is there for a person coming up from a coma. The body is very weak, muscles have not been used for years, and there is a lot of scope for the person to suffer from injuries and a bad health unless they take it easy and wait for health and strength to build up.
That is what the doctor has advised, and hence the family members want to ensure that Naitik is kept away from major work till the health has stabilized and the body is feeling better. But, at the same time, Naitik is seeing that he is resting at the house while everybody else is doing things. Akshara is doing the work in the office that he should be doing, his mother and Akshara are spending time on taking care of Naitik and he is feeling like that they are treating him like a baby.
The biggest problem would be with regard to Duggu; he has never seen his father in action, and now that the father is there, the father wants to act like a father. However, at the same time Duggu is able to see how other children have fun with their fathers, play with them, and so on, and is wondering what is wrong with his father. Naitik is able to feel this and is getting more impatient; he also sees that Duggu has got spoilt due to the attention paid by Gayathri, and does not listen easily.
So, Naitik decides to go one day with Duggu to a cricket match, and then when his mother gets to know about this, she gets Mohit to call Naitik and tell him that the match is canceled. Naitik tells Duggu, who is upset, but both of them get very upset that the match was not canceled, and when Naitik gets to know that it was his mother who had got Mohit to call and lie to him that the match was canceled; he is also upset with Akshara and starts being quiet, while Duggu feels even further that his father will not be able to go with him anywhere.

Hindi TV Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai - Naitik finally out of coma, his son very disturbed

For some time, the serial has been showing Naitik in a coma. Apparently, since the character playing Naitik had got married in real life, he needed some free time and so the serial was structured to show Naitik in a coma since that would not require much of screen appearance (else why would the actor playing Naitik agree to a role where he would be mostly in coma and not doing much acting); further Naitik was going to be also acting in the dance serial Nach Baliye. Finally, when it seems that Naitik will have more time on his hands, the serial is going to show him having more time on his hands.
For the time that Naitik was in coma, Akshara was shown as handling the responsibility, handling the jewellery business. As a result, her life was much more complex, since she would leave in the morning and come back in the evening. Her mother-in-law was handling the child, Duggu, and because of what had happened to Naitik, Gayathri was much more doting on the child. As a result of all this, Duggu was getting much more arrogant and spoilt, not listening to anybody and his grandmother was not going to listen to anybody complaining about her grandson.
Even when Akshara went to Duggu's school, her teacher told her the same thing, that he would spend the whole time playing football, not putting much effort in school preparation, and so on. During this time, Naitik started responding to treatment, and opened his eyes once. Soon after, Naitik finally regained consciousness, and although his muscles would have got much weaker, finally the presence of Duggu and his football in the room ensured that Naitik showed effort and got up from the bed.
However, Duggu was very apprehensive about this, since he had not seen his father in this state and had also been warned by other children. And then when he saw the attention that his father was getting from his grand-mother, he was also getting jealous. Now this is something that Naitik will have to manage.

Hindi TV Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai - A leap happened, and Naitik in coma

The serial has just gone through a time leap, a 4 year plus time leap. Before the time leap, Naitik was in hospital, struggling for his life. He and Akshara had an accident, and as a result of that accident, in the process of saving Akshara's life, he had suffered some major injuries and was hospitalized. Doctors finally reported that he had gone in a coma and was not able to recover from the coma.
And then the time leap was shown in the serial. They have moved 4 years into the future, all the characters are the same, except for 2 items. Duggu is now a young boy, going to school; and Akshara is now out of her sareer, wearing smart suits, and because of all the responsibility, she now has taken over the office along with Naitik's father and they do the office bit daily. The equations within the house has still not changed all that much, with her mother in law still believing that what she says and believes is the right thing to do. Every day, they show Akshara talking to Naitik, telling him whatever happens, and hoping that he would come out of the coma.
Because Akshara now goes to office, her mother-in-law takes more control of the house, including the bringing up of Duggu. She spoils Duggu rotten, to the extent that he now behaves like a spoilt child, not listening to what people are saying, not liking it when people scold him, and so on. To the extent that now his school teacher has just told Akshara that Naitik is now fighting with people in school, is not doing well at all, and does not listen to whatever is told to him in school. Akshara is very angry at whatever happens, but it is difficult for her since the once who is causing all this is her own mother-in-law. She is just hoping to make things better, and what could be better than Naitik coming up.

Hindi TV Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Akshara's pregnancy, and the return to the house

The family has been going through some times now for the past several weeks, after some financial dealings caused the family to have to put their house up on the block, and moved out of the house. This caused them a lot of pain, but they bore it without much complaint. In addition, given that Akshara was pregnant again, after she lost her previous baby because of a miscarriage, things were much more careful. The family also did not take the help of their inlaws beyond some minimal amount, although they did stay in Akshara's parents house for a few days while they were searching for a house to stay in.
But, now things seem to be looking up - the baby is almost due, and their business is now looking up, enough that they have managed to get back their house from the bank and have now moved back into the house, a joyous occasion. Now, the festival of Makar Sakranti is fast approaching and the family is planning on how to celebrate, since it also seems that the time of the delivery of Akshara's baby is very close.
Akshara is getting very worried as the pregnancy comes closer to the due date, also worried about the pain that will come at the time of delivery, and not getting a lot of confidence from the elderly women in the house about the pain of delivery.
At the same time, there is a lot of anticipation in the house of Akshara's parents about the impending delivery, with speculation on what will be the exact day of the delivery, and so on; all of them are incredibly anxious about the delivery.

Hindi TV Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Tearful departures from the house

Till now, the serial has always shown them as rich people, doing a jewellery business where they earn a lot of money and live well. However, since they have been shown undergoing a lot of stress for some reason or the other (whether that be the marriage of their daughters, or the relation with the daughter-in-law, or relations with their son's in-laws, or the pregnancy of their daughter); they don't need a specific reason to have stress in their life.
But now things are very stressful indeed. They are being forced to move from their house, the same house in which the brothers settled in, and where the children of the house were born and brought up in; all due to problems in business (fall in values of share investment and loan issues) - attributed to Naitik. As a result, the inevitable has happened - they have been forced to put their house up in order to get money to pay their workers (including Diwali bonus).
This is a very uncomfortable situation for everybody, since for the moment, they do not even have a house where to go to; and when their inlaws offer any kind of help (both Rashmi's inlaws, and Akshara's parents), they are so proud that they cannot take such help. However, since they do not have any option as of now, they will have to eventually take help - they need a place to live in.
They have already been forced to give up some of their stuff, since they cannot keep everything that they owned, so many items from their younger times that was kept for sentimental reasons has to be given away.

Hindi TV Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Tension between Akshara and Naitik because of all the work that Akshara did

Finally, the serial showed the ending of the marriage ceremony of Rashmi (the serial must have been showing the drama of the marriage for a long time, with its various tensions, drama, etc). The drama around the whole marriage related to different social conditions between the 2 families, about who would do the preparations for the marriage (with the family looking to hire a marriage planner for the entire activity). During the course of the operations of the marriage planner, Akshara starts getting concerned about the activities of the marriage planner, and the costing involved. She feels that the marriage planner is charging too much, not giving value, and she would be able to do the job better.
During the course of the planning, Naikit gets injured in the leg, because of which he is not able to do as much as he would like. Akshara takes on the full responsibility of the planning, and to ensure that Naitik does not get injured further, she does not let him do much. The wedding goes well, and everybody appreciates the entire planning done by Akshara, and the way she handled everything.
Naitik has been getting more and more irritated over the praise that Akshara has been getting, since he considers that Akshara did not consider him worthy of doing anything at all in the planning. Like in the past, this is causing major tension between them now, since Akshara considers that it as her responsibility, being a daughter-in-law of the family, and cannot understand what Naitik is getting upset over.

Hindi TV Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Rashmi's marriage and controversies surrounding it

From what I have seen, Yeh Rishta .. is one of the slowest moving serials in the entire Hindi serials industry. A wedding or some function like that can literally take months to happen in the serial. The current serial is moving through the planning for Rashmi's marriage, and it is the last marriage in the family for some time, so there is a lot of effort needed for the marriage. Rashmi is getting married to Nikhil, and the difference in customs and concepts between the 2 families is very huge, which is causing all sorts of problems. Nikhil calls on Rasmi a lot, and takes her out on regular intervals, and this causes problems to Rashmi's family. They disapprove of this much contact between Rashmi and Nikhil before the wedding, with Daddaji getting angry often.
When Rashmi wears the engagement ring without the engagement having taken place, there is a huge amount of drama in the family, and Rashmi also gets a lot of scolding. But slowly, they are adjusting. They even go to the extent that since Nikhil's family is having a marriage advisor to run things, Rashmi's family also hires a wedding planner (but with some huge budgets). Akshara is somewhat uncomfortable with all this, and eventually makes it clear that the wedding planner is only spending money, sort of extorting money from them, and she takes over the business of the various events for the wedding. By now, everybody in the family trusts Akshara a lot.
At one such function, Naitik has an accident where falls of the stage and undergoes a fracture. The fracture leaves him somewhat irritated which is increased since Akshara is doing all the planning for the marriage and not even giving him some responsibility.

Hindi TV Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Akshara's pregnancy, and she gets lost for a couple of episodes

The show has moved a bit faster, because in most cases, the serial moves at a very slow speed (a wedding could take several months to happen, with the preparation for each function also getting shown). The last few episodes has covered the scene where Akshara became pregnant, a source of major joy for the family. Initially, she was apprehensive of how Naitik will feel, since in a discussion with Naitik, Naitik did express his thoughts that he was maybe not ready to be a father yet (at that time, Akshara had not told Naitik about her pregnancy as yet). However, when her pregnancy became known, Naitik and everyone in the family was very happy about this development, and they all wanted Akshara to slow down, eat more and rest more.
Her parents also wanted Akshara to come home for some time, since they were very happy for her pregnancy as well; Akshara also wanted to spend time at her home with her family and with her young niece. At the same time, Naitik also wanted to spend time with Akshara, and decided to stay with her at her house. This led to a slight comical situation where Naitik was there, and they were asking him to at least eat dinner before leaving, and he stated that he did not want to leave, and instead wanted to stay along with Akshara.
Like many other serials where a pregnancy is shown, there was the situation where Akshara could have tripped on the stairs, and they showed that in a precap, but in reality, Akshara recovered and did not fall (although everybody got very scared at the thought that Akshara could have taken a fall and something happened to her baby).
After this, another major incident happened where Akshara went to the locker room of the bank, but due to a mistake and confusion, she got locked inside after the bank closed. Everybody was frantic looking for her, and even the police was involved, but it was getting difficult. How will she be found is the next major question.

Hindi TV Serials - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Problems when buying a Diwali present for Nandini's inlaws

The problems for Akshara never seem to end. The relation between Nandini and Mohit is a nice one, like any married couple. The issue is more about the way that Mohit's mother has been portrayed, showing her to be more concerned about money and wanting Mohit to get married to a rich girl. So, she was initially shocked when she got to know that Mohit wanted to marry a handicapped girl, but her attitude quickly changed when she found that Nandini belonged to one of the richest families of the area, and expected that a lot of riches were going to come her away (constrained by the fact that Mohit had a high degree of pride and was not going to let his inlaws give him money more than the normal marriage items)
However, as a result, there is always some amount of tension when it comes to giving gifts to Nandini's inlaws, since the household would not want to give something so low that it would make Mohit's mother feel that her expectations were not being met, and yet not something that Mohit would want to refuse it and send it back.
So, when the occasion for giving the first set of gifts for Diwali came, Akshara got the responsibility, and along with Rashmi, she set out to get something that would be modern, and got a lot of beautiful and creative decorations for Diwali, but something that the elders in the house were not really comfortable with; and obviously Mohit's mother did not really like them at all. But the biggest problem was when they picked up the sweets from a local shop, and it turned out that the local shop gave them old sweets, which when opened up Mohit's house, turned out to be rotten, and this eventually got back to Akshara's house. Big problem.

Hindi TV Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Naitik gets into trouble because of Sneha, a designer in his office

As usual, even if you do not watch this show for a number of days, the slow speed at which the serial moves will ensure that you do not miss much. For a number of weeks (or maybe months), the serial has been showing a potential for discord between Naitik and Akshara because of the new entry of a girl called Sneha, who works for Naitik as a designer, and works in his office. Sneha comes from a pretty conservative family (apparently more conservative than even Naitik's family), and for her, working outside the house is a big deal and something that she has not let her family really know. She works well as a designer, and Naitik's company is starting to depend on her for their new designs.
However, due to a lack of communication, and to actually blame Naitik, Sneha starts to get close to Naitik, and attracted to him. Neither she, nor eventually her mother realize that Naitik is actually married. And Naitik, in his supposed innocence, does not see that Sneha is getting close to him and does not even try to tell her about Akshara, or get them introduced on any occasion. It is when Sneha's mother sets Shankari Tai on the job of taking the relationship to Naikit's house that Shankari Tai, somewhat hesitantly tells the truth that Naitik is already married.
Sneha's mother is very angry at this, and feels that Naitik has been very unfair to her daughter. Sneha in the meantime has resigned from the job, and the company (daddaji) is feeling the pinch of not having a good designer. Naitik knows the truth by now, and so does Akshara, and Akshara does blame Naitik for all this, for leading Sneha on. Now, Sneha's mother wants to get to Naitik's parents and complain about his behavior, and he is scared about this.

Hindi TV Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Conflict between Akshara and Naitik over the return of the house

In the serial 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain', there is now tension between Naitik and Akshara. The serial focuses on showing drama in a family, along with festivities (that too prolonged over a number of episodes). In many cases, the tension between the family members seems to be over something is not really worth the amount of tension.
Consider the recent drama, whereby Naitik's mother was very angry about their buying a separate house, and considered that they were wanting to move out of the house and shift to a new location. Naitik considers that this was just a house that he bought for Akshara, and they have no plans of shifting. Further, he says that since he had no bad intentions, why should he apologize.
In the meantime, the tension between Akshara / Naitik and his mother keeps on increasing, even though the others in the family realize that this tension is getting out of hand; and eventually a compromise seems to be that they will sell the house.
Akshara is totally fine with this, but Naitik is very rigid on this, claiming that he had done nothing wrong. With pressure from Akshara, he finally sells the house, but is now very miffed with Akshara since she did not respect his feelings and did not support him - this puts Akshara in a problematic area, since she had to respect the feelings of his mother, and now Naitik was angry with her, and continues to be angry with her for a number of episodes now.

Hindi TV Serials - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Akshara and Naitik are facing the heat as they buy a new house

This one situation seems ridiculous. I think that this serial seems to have outlived its usefulness, so the makers of the serial have hit on a formula. Whenever, there is an occasion, spend multiple weeks showing all the events of that occasion. So, Nandini's marriage seemingly went through all the festivities being shown in the serial; and then next, there are always some incidents that happen, where Akshara is tested or shown in some sort of bad way and then she has to fight to ensure that she is not misunderstood.
So, soon after Nandini's marriage is over, the next huge drama is being shown. You have Naitik deciding to buy a house for Akshara since she liked the house (how many people do something like buying a house for their wife when they know that they cannot live in that house); and then once this is know in the household, Naitik's mother turns into a total shrieker. She tells Akshara that Akshara has plans to live along with Naitik in another house and would leave this house, and nobody is willing to tell her that she is totally wrong and to give up this drama.
Akshara on the other hand is totally struck down by all this, since she did not know about the purchase till it was announced by Naitik much later, and her own mother-in-law refuses to support her; and Naitik also gets on a high horse and says that he will not sell the house since he has not done anything wrong, and selling the house now would mean that admitting that he had wrong thoughts. Akshara is now stuck in the middle, and in the meantime her mother got to know about this, and was unwilling to support Akshara on this, even more so, since her own son Shaurya had decided to leave the house and stay elsewhere along with his wife.
The others in the house who are elder somehow are not able to do anything significant in this regard.

Hindi TV Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Naitik and Akshara have a small fight over her birthday

This is a show that could have ended with the marriage of the lead pair, but now that the show is continuing, there will be constant efforts to portray the ongoing relationship between the lead pair, and as a part of that, there will constant bickering, fights, reconciliation, and so on. The latest such occasion is on Akshara's birthday, where she considers that since this is her first birthday after marriage, this will be a special occasion. However, in the morning, Naitik does not tell her anything, and instead goes off for a cricket match; others wish her, send her presents, and so on (and in fact, this is a strange family because in many families, the husband would have been teased earlier about what present he is going to get and so on). It is later that Naitik realizes that it is the birthday and that he needs to do something.
By the time, Akshara is very uncomfortable, even more so when people ask her about what Naitik has got for her and she does not know what to reply to these questions. In the meantime, Naitik has make some arrangements for a party (working along with Mohit) and asks Akshara to be there by 5:30 PM. However, with her own family and other relatives there, Akshara is unable to leave (and is unable to make an excuse to leave to be with Naitik). When Naitik arrives, he is very angry at Akshara, claiming that she did not make much of an effort to come to the party when he had asked her to, and in the meantime, Akshara also learns from a phone call that Naitik had indeed meant to go to a cricket match, and this meant that he had forgotten all about her birthday; and this makes her upset (upset enough that she tells Naitik that he forgot about her birthday). Obviously this tension will get over soon, but right now, it makes them uncomfortable.

Hindi TV Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Naitik trying to get Mohit and Nandini together after undertaking to get Nandini married

Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain is going through some amount of tension. In both households, there is a fair amount of tension that is happening nowadays. In the serial, in Varsha and Shaurya's house, Shaurya is facing some amount of credibility issues with his father, and this is giving him a lot of tension, causing some amount of strain between him and Varsha, and Shaurya even applying for a job outside.
In Naitik's house, the amount of tension is even more, with the relation between the 2 set of brothers (Naitik's father and Dadaji, or rather between their wives) increasing a bit. The tension is over the marriage of Nandini and also the marriage of Rashmi). Nandini's marriage is delayed because of all the issues about her relationship (or rather, longing for Mohit), and also because she is physically handicapped, the amount of relations for her is limited. And yet, since she is older than Rashmi, it is difficult for Rashmi to get married before Nandini's marriage can be finalized, and this is causing tension between the 2 set of mothers, which even led to Choti Dulhan saying a few words that Daddai could find somewhat offensive.
And in the midst of all this, Naitik gets up and wants to take responsibility for getting a good match for Nandini, something that Daddaji is not so comfortable about, but he agrees. However, the first set of matches that Naitik gets are not good, and Daddaji is getting angry. However, Naitik is also realizing that Nandini is going to be totally happy only with Mohit, and he needs to change the opinion of the family about Mohit (including that Mohit is not of the same economic and social standing, and also that Mohit is also younger to Nandini). Will Naitik be able to change the opinion of his family regarding Mohit ?

Hindi Serial - Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai - Finally Akshara and Naitik make up

The change in the serial was very abrupt, since for many viewers, the concept of Naitik was a person acutely aware of his status and position; one who even though loves his wife, was able to see mistakes in her even more easily. At a time when the entire family was angry with Akshara, she needed support from Naitik the most, and it was then that he deserted her. He even told her that she was causing too much problems and tension in the house, and that she could leave if she wanted, and so Akshara did (and this was the event that shocked everybody into understanding that things were out of control). His own family had started realizing that he was getting too much into his ego, and too arrogant.
And then came the episode of Holi, where he suddenly made his way to Akshara's house, supposedly drunk on Bhang, and then made Akshara also high on Bhangra. And then they had a frank discussion where she told him about everything that he had done that had shocked her, especially the fact that he had not supported her. Based on this entire discussion, Naitik then dragged her downstairs, where everybody assumed that things between them were still not normal. And it was then that Naitik gave the biggest surprise, telling everyone that he agreed that he was the one who was wrong, and apologizing to Akshara in front of everyone. This made Akshara feel much better, now that she realized that the love from Naitik was strong enough, and this also shocked both set of families. However, Naitik had still not helped his sister, and the question is whether he can make up with Mohit and get the happinness to his sister, Nandini by uniting her with Mohit ?

Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Naitik makes up, and is apparently high on bhang

Ever since Naitik and Akshara separated, it became clear that Naitik was on a high horse, not wanting to forgive any slight mistake on Akshara's part; even when their elders had conspired to get them together, even a small slight was enough to get him angry again. At this, his parents and his grandparents were not exactly very happy with him, especially when he went home angry from Akshara's house, the evening before Holi.
The next day, on Holi, they were surprised since they expected that Naitik would still be angry, but it turned out that he was full of the Holi spirit, willing to apply color on everyone and had got all his friends over (except for his former best friend Mohit, who he started avoiding ever since he got to know that Mohit and Nandini were in love with each other).
Then he vanishes suddenly, and his family is very surprised and puzzled as to where he has gone (although most viewers would have realized that he would have gone to Akshara's house), and that is indeed where he goes. Akshara's family is very surprised to see him there, but they treat him like the respected son-in-law he is; and the makers of the serial have tried to show him as a person who has taken bhang, and is now somewhat high. His inlaws see him in this strange behavior, but they cannot say much to him; although they do let his parents know that Naitik is over there. This causes his family to suffer some surprise, since they did not expect him to go there, and also because they have to get ready to go to the other house and for that they need to take sweets and other stuff. By the time they get there, Naitik has asked them to get Bhang, something that they are surprised about, but still get for him. Akshara is very surprised at all this. And then his family gets there, and they are surprised at seeing him in this state, although Naitik tries to control himself.

The latest events in Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain - Akshara only back for a visit, but Naitik is not bending

The serious nature of the misunderstanding between Akshara and Naitik grows even more in the serial. From a time when they were so much in love, Naitik is not able to get over the behavior of Akshara, and has also started hating his close friend Mohit. As a result, Akshara had to leave her house when Naitik told her that it would be better if she left back to her parents house, and she finally did so after a lot of crying.
It became much worse when her parents finally got to know that Akshara had left her in-laws after this dispute, and they were not sure what to do - and her father took a fairly sensible decision that she should not go back unless both Naitik and Akshara were willing; something that Daddaji was not initially comfortable with initially.
However, things are never so clear, and the amount of misunderstanding does not really get clear. When Naitik comes to the house, Shaurya does not treat him with a lot of respect (and given how Naitik had behaved in the past, that seems something perfectly clear); so when Akshara comes back to her inlaws house for one day, naitik does not stop her when she tries to go back (with the expectation that Naitik will try to stop her). Now it the elders of the house who are meeting in order to try and resolve things.

Naitik and Akshara - Trouble in paradise to be resolved soon?

Askhara and Naitik are perhaps one of the most loved on screen pairs of Hindi serials nowadays. Viewers have been glued to their unique love story which blossomed after their marriage was fixed by the respective families. In fact the distinctiveness of the story lay in the fact that it was attempting to capture a very basic reality of Indian marriages and families- the way love blossoms between two completely unknown individuals once they tie the knot. Akshara and Naitik came to symbolise those millions of young people across India who first marry and then fall in love and not the other way round.

After a very elaborate marriage the couple settled down to domestic bliss. There were hiccups along the way but these two very much in love individuals seemed determined to not let anything come in the way of their own private heaven. Even Naitik’s mother who had concerns giving up space in her son’s life to this new person was handled very nicely by the young couple. However these two lovebirds are now facing the toughest challenge to their relationship. Misunderstood by her marital family who thought that she had deliberately mislead her sister-in-law (Nandini), Akshara tries to plead her case before every family member but without much success. She had expected Naitik to support and stand by her. But his inability to do so breaks her heart. She leaves for her father’s place and Naitik does not stop her.

Initially, Akshara’s family were unaware that she had left her in-laws house. Once they come to know about this, Akshara’s father, Vishambharnath, goes to his son-in-law’s house to sort out matters. However once he is apprised of the situation he lays down a condition for the Singhanias (Naitik’s family) that Akshara will return only when Naitik goes to fetch her back. His reasoning is that given the nature of this misunderstanding, it will be better if Naitik and Akshara resolve their differences first and get together because they want to and not due to familial pressure. This angers the Singhanias as they take it to be highhanded behaviour on the part of Akshara’s father.

The writers’ of the show need to be congratulated for the stance that Akshara’s father has taken. Even though he is humble, he is not willing to compromise his daughter’s sense of dignity. He wants to be assured that she will be able to retain her earlier position of trust and respect before he sends her back. He also respects the fact that marriage is ultimately between two people and to this end wants Akshara and Naitik to resolve differences first. Whether the lovely couple are able to find their way back to each other only time will tell. Till such time, viewers will have to keep their fingers crossed.

Akshara in serious trouble in "Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hain"

The household in which Akshara has got married, the household of her husband Naitik, is pretty conservative. The idea is to respect elders, treat their word as a command, and overall not go in for new fashioned stuff (which includes getting married in a love marriage). And this is where Akshara finds herself in serious trouble.
Naitik's sister, Nandini is handicapped, and has been having trouble finding a good match. Unknowingly to her, she was falling in love with a good friend of the family, Mohit (a childhood friend of Naitik). She finally admits it to Akshara, and soon after when Mohit gets into a small accident, Mohit also finds out about this. However, Nandini thinks that Mohit has rejected her, and agrees to go through a normal arranged relations; however, things change when Mohit confirms her love and they are both able to confess their feelings for each other.
However, not everything is so positive elsewhere. Akshara knows about all this, and yet like so many other serials, is unable to tell Naitik about this, and then Naitik finds out about this when he sees all 3 of them together. When some people come to see Nandini and are ready to move ahead, Naitik gets the relation stopped, and forces Akshara to reveal the truth. The net result is that after this, everybody is very angry with both Nandini and Akshara, and do not talk to them. Naitik ignores Akshara and she is horrified by his reaction, crying most of the time.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain - The Mohit story

Trust a serial maker to drag a serial on and on. When the serial planned the marriage between Akshara and Naitik, it seemed like this would be a good time to end the serial. However, you cannot end a serial unless forced to, and hence the serial goes on and on. Nowadays, there are multiple stories that are ongoing;
- Akshara is facing the challenge of integrating with a new household that is more conservative than her own family; already seen when she is forced to always have her pallu over head.
- She is given responsibility of running the house, but the current servants of the house feel that she is demanding accountability for every bit of money spent, and they resent it
- The story of Naitik's friend, Mohit, has started unfolding. His family is in a bad financial position, and his mom nags both him and his father to do something about this. She wants Mohit to work with her brother, but this is not something that Mohit can accept. He is looking for a job, and from behind the scenes, Naitik is trying to help.
- Naitik's sister, who is handicapped, has started liking Mohit, but is unwilling to accept this easily, and snipes back at Akshara when Akshara suggets this
- Most problematic for Akshara, her mother-in-law has mistakenly thought that Akshara was complaining about her, and is now becoming cold.
