Hindi TV Serials - Bidaai - Sadhana dead, and the serial now jumps 7 years ahead

In the pretty popular serial, Bidaai, on Star Plus, things suddenly seem to have gone into fast action. If you consider the movements of the past 2-3 weeks, everything seems to have been accelerated. After the resolution of the illegitimate son of Inderjeet, things were fast forwarded. Everybody seemed to be happy, both Sadhana and Ragini got pregnant, with nearabouts the same delivery date.
And then news started filtering out that would change a lot of stuff in the serial. The news was that Sadhana would be out of the serial, there would be a time leap, and Ranvir would also be out of the serial. Sadhana may come back later in a different role. And so things started moving; first you had Sadhana giving birth to Khushi, and then praying that all the bad things she started feeling would go away. However, this was not to be.
When visiting the temple at around the time that Ragini would be going in for birth, Sadhana and Alekh got caught in a bomb blast by terrorists, the resulting explosion causing the death of Sadhana at the scene, and Alekh being pushed back to his crazy state due to the shock of the explosion. And Ragini had to accept this, as well as the fact that she was now responsible for the care of 2 infants, 2 girls, being Khushi, and her own daughter Tamanna.
And then the serial has moved into fast forward, into 7 years in the future, in a time leap. Ragini has accepted the loss of Sadhana, but the pain remains.

Hindi TV Serial - Bidaai - A huge change in order in Bidaai - Sadhana in a bomb blast, and Ragini falls down the stairs

This episode (the episode of 19th June 2010) was a special episode, happening on a Saturday (the serial normally does occur on weekdays, so happening on a weekend was a bit different). With this episode, Bidaai has gone through some major happenings. These are supposed to be happy times for the serial, with both Sadhana and Ragini being mothers or would be mothers. In fact, Sadhana has already given birth to a baby girl called Khushi, thus marking the first level of celebration in the family. At the same time, Sadhana keeps on getting some bad dreams and foreboding regarding Ragini, and is always apprehensive of what will happen; she has kept a fast for the same and goes to the temple for doing a prayer for this.
And now everything starts moving in high gear. When Sadhana and Alekh are in the temple, there are news reports about terrorists having been detected in the area of the city where the temple is located, something that scares and Ranvir when he sees the report on television.
And in the house, more panic happens since Ragini, heavily pregnant, and almost due, falls down the stairs and now needs emergency treatment. Vinu had arrived at the house just in time, and he takes Ranvir and Ragini along with him to the hospital for treatment, but because of the security scare ongoing, they meet multiple police roadblocks on the way to the hospital, and in fact, they are pushed back to a different route and need to take a different path. On this new route, they have an accident, and the car bangs into a tree. Now, the question is, in the promos, they show a death in the family, and they have not identified which of the 2 ladies, Sadhana or Ragini have met their death.

Hindi TV Serial - Bidaai on Star Plus - Everything seems to be going fine, but .. dark forebodings

On Bidaai on Star Plus, everything seems to be going fine. Even the drama about the illegitimate son of Inderjeet finally blew over. The son came, threatened, put them in some difficult situations, and when Vasu got to know, she was also somewhat angry, but then suddenly the makers of the serial decided to make everything good again and so, Karan decides, after suddenly seeing the ill-health of Sadhana, that he is not really a vindictive person, and this is a good family. So he forgives all of them, makes his peace with them, and then leaves the house.
And then the serial starts moving a bit in fast forward more. Both Sadhana and Ragini are now pregnant, enjoying their pregnancy, everybody is happy and in the mood for celebrations. Sadhana however is a bit worried about whether there will be any bad events in the future, and even has a bad dream about Ragini.
The forecast is all about something bad happening in the serial to Sadhana, either in the form of childbirth, or it was rumored, in the form of a bomb blast. Or will it happen to Ragini. But even a future clip shown on the serial shows mourning in the family with heavy rain, with mourning going on for one of the principal cast members. Also, it seems likely that Kinshuk, who plays Ranvir will be leaving the show, whether there will be somebody replacing him, or they will show his character dying off is not sure right now. And there will be a time leap in the show as well.
What will happen next ? Right now the show is showing the festivities regarding the Godbharai celebration for both of them, to happen in the Rajvansh house.

Hindi TV Serial - Sapna Babul Ka .. Bidai - Finally the reconciliation between Sadhana and Vasu, after Sadhana saves Vasu

Typically reconciliations between people who are separated from each other comes only through some major events. In the case of the serial Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai, there is a huge gap between Vasu and Sadhana. Vasu always wanted the best for her sons, and for her, whatever she wanted was what needed to happen, and anybody who came in her way was somebody to be opposed. So, when Sadhana helped in getting Alekh better, this was appreciated, but now that Alekh was much improved, Sadhana was not a good enough wife for him, and with Malika being on the scene, it was easier to try to get Sadhana out of the way to make way for Mallika in Alekh's life.
Vasu had almost managed to make this happen, but at that time, everybody came to realize the value of Sadhana, and hence her entire family along with Ranveer made efforts to ensure that Alekh does not get engaged to Mallika, and they succeed. But as a result, both Alekh and Ranveer decide to leave the house, something that horrifies Vasu since she could not have expected such a thing to happen. However, all her efforts to get them back and away from Sadhana do not succeed.
Next, Sadhana, in her goodness, continues to try to get both Alekh and Ranveer close to Vasu again (overcoming any anger at Vasu); and then this freak event happens. In the room where Alekh-Sadhana and Ranveer-Ragini live, there is a short circuit and a fire starts. In the fire, eventually, Sadhana manages to save Vasu who had come in, but suffers as a result. She is injured in the fire, and is taken to hospital where the doctors are worried about the smoke in her lungs because of which they cannot do an operation; and in addition, Naveen and Anvi are upto something that will separate Vasu from her sons; but Ragini has overhead them speaking.

Hindi TV serial - Bidaai - Vasu pretends to be severely sick, but Alekh gets to know the truth

Written update:
Ever since Alekh got to know the truth about Vasu's hand in trying to force his divorce with Sadhana, he had left the house. This action of Alekh had hurt the ego of Vasu so much that she had proclaimed that since Alekh did not know anything much on his own, and had led such a sheltered life, he would realize his mistake and come back to the house and to Vasu within 7 days. However, Alekh had managed to get a job (although he ran into problems because of the lack of qualifications).
Vasu really did not believe that Alekh would be able to survive on his own, however, she did take some precautions to ensure that her condition would be met. However, before this, she got another shock when Ranveer also decided to quit the house where his brother and bhabhi are not accepted, and leaves. Vasu comes across mamaji in the morning, and tries to blame him for everything; however, he does not accept it and tells that her if she really wanted to understand, maybe she should try to understand that everything is happening because of her.
Next, Vasu decides that she will give a shock to the Sharma family and decides that Vineet cannot continue to work in her company anymore and hence she decides to fire him. Inderjeet tried to intervene but by then Vinu had decided to quit the job since his self-respect had gone. However, Malti is shocked when she gets to hear about this, and tries to take this out on Sadhana at home. Vinu and mamaji both respond very negatively to this, with Vinu almost raising his hand, but is stopped by Sadhana.
However, then Vasu decides to play her trump card; in the middle of an argument with Inderjeet, she claims that she is not feeling well, and is rushed to hospital where the doctor claims that she had a minor heart attack. Both her sons are shocked and come to the hospital leaving everything. And then Alekh gets to know by accident that everything is fine with her, and she was acting with the doctors supporting her. When the family gets to know, they are even more shocked.

Hindi Serial - Bidaai - Alekh gets to know the truth about Sadhana and leaves his mother

Things finally seem to be looking up for Alekh and Sadhana. Vasu had tried her best to ensure that Sadhana was out of the life of Alekh, by giving her Rs. 5 lakh to sign the divorce papers for her divorce from Alekh, along with the condition that Sadhana would not talk about this to anyone. And since Sadhana then refused to tell Alekh about this, Alekh in turn was angry with Sadhana, angry enough that he was ready to get divorced and marry Mallika (who Vasu wanted to get married to Alekh). In the midst of all this, Ragini got the shock of her life when she got to hear of everything that Sadhana had done, and she went ahead and told her own family all about this. And so there was a plan made to get Vasu to reveal all this to Alekh so that he would finally believe that Sadhana was the correct one, and that Vasu was the one who was driving everything.
So, in the engagement party of Alekh and Mallika, before the actual engagement could happen, Sadhana's mamiji, who had resolved to do everything to ensure that Sadhana and Alekh get back together, goes to the party, and after first starting off things on a very polite and friendly note, confronts Vasu about her role in the divorce. Finally, they are able to provoke Vasu to the extent that she reveals all about her role in ensuring that Sadhana was forced to sign the divorce papers. When Alekh hears this, he is upset, and wants to go and get his wife, Sadhana back (he was always in love with her, but was angry about why she was willing to divorce him, and not tell him the actual reasons). Vasu states that she will not let Sadhana get back into the house, at which Alekh says that he will not let anything come between him and Sadhana. Finally Sadhana seems to be heading for happiness.

Hindi Serial - Bidaai - Finally Ragini gets to learn more about all the efforts and sacrifices by Sadhana

For some time now, it seemed clear that the role of Sadhana was only to be good, sacrifice her life and efforts, and yet be blamed for a lot of things that can go wrong in the family. In fact, Ragini, to whom she was very close, also started moving away from her once it turned out that Sadhana had to give testimony in court against Ranveer (even though she was just speaking the truth); it became so bad that Ragini refused to speak properly to Sadhana and started believing all the words of Vasu as well as her mother against Sadhana. In the end, it was only her mama who continued to believe in her, as well as Ranveer.
But things started to move in her favor due to none other than Vasu. After Vasu gave money to Sadhana for signing the divorce papers, everybody started criticizing Sadhana for trying to get divorced from Alekh, even Ragini. But Sadhana refused to state the reason. For Vasu, she started getting into some problem when her elder daughter-in-law learnt that Vasu had given money to Sadhana for the divorce and effectively blackmailed Vasu into giving her Rs. 1 lakh to keep her mouth quiet. This was seen by Inderjeet who suspected that something was going wrong and confronted Vasu.
Ragini had already learnt that Sadhana deliberately lost the dance contest, and also learnt that Sadhana was looking to get a lot of money for the treatment, and then also learnt that Sadhana did arrange to get the money. And then she heard the discussion between Vasu and Inderjeet where she learned that Sadhana had agreed to get married to a then-mentally unstable Alekh for getting their house out of debt, and also for a promise to get Ragini married to Ranveer; and then even recently, she got the money for her mamiji's operation only by agreeing to sign the divorce papers.
This really shook up Ragini, since it became clear to her that everything was done by Sadhana, that she had sacrificed herself for her family and for Ragini, and yet everybody including Ragini was blaming her for many things.

Bidaai - Sadhana facing a lot of questions about the divorce, and Vasu arranging for marriage with Mallika

One wonders about these serials, how they show people stretching to breaking point, and how good is almost never rewarded, and if it is rewarded, then only for a short while, and then everything becomes bad again. Here, Sadhana is the perfect daughter, bahu (too perfect, since she keeps on taking everything - in the Gita, it says that you should always speak up for the truth, and she keeps on hiding it one way or the other).
So, here Sadhana had signed the divorce papers since she needed the money from Vasu, and Vasu wanted to see the end of the Sadhana - Alekh relationship so that she could get Alekh married to Mallika (did she never think that Mallika is a much more strong willed girl, and would not be so easily pushed like Vasu keeps on pushing Sadhana). Here Sadhana is not willing to reveal where she got the money from, and even told Alekh that she had signed the divorce papers since they did not have much of a relationship; as a result, Alekh is torn between moving away and his love for Sadhana. Only Ranveer is the one who continues to believe in this relationship and is shocked when Vasu tries to get Alekh and Mallika to get engaged fast, it is only Alekh who refuses to get engaged immediately, although Vasu is confident that she will get him engaged to Mallika within 2 days.
In the meantime, Ragini comes to the house and declares that she is shocked by Sadhana's decision to divorce Alekh, something that the others in the house don't know; they are equally shocked. They all apply pressure to Sadhana, but she refuses to reveal the reason for why she took this decision, and though her Mamaji is clearly disappointed, he does not try to force her. Vinu also tries, but is unable to get her to reveal the reasons why he did so.

Bidaai - Sadhana finally gets the money required for the operation of her maamiji

Sadhana is facing a very difficult task; her maamiji needs a medical operation that will cost atleast Rs. 4-5 lakhs, and there is an urgent need to get the money required. There does not seem any easy way to get the money required, so it is upto Sadhana to get the money required, and then Sadhana finds out about this dance competition where the final prize will get the required some of money. So even though she does not know dancing, she gets to know of an instructor who will be able to teach all this in the few days remaining. Sadhana manages to convince the teacher to come out of retirement and train her.
And then the surprise, her mother-in-law has found out that Sadhana is looking for money and persuades Ragini to also enter the show, so that Sadhana will face problems in getting the required money. Sadhana will face problems in facing off with Ragini since it would always be difficult for to compete with her own sister. And so it happens, Ragini wins since Sadhana lets her win.
However, Sadhana still got money for the operation, and this money was given to her by Vasu, on a condition that Sadhana signs the divorce documents that Vasu got with her, and Sadhana had to do this for the operation for her maamiji. But, and this is something that is not clear, she wants her family to think that her brother had arranged for the money.

Bidaai - Happy times ahead?

Over the last month or so, the track of Bidaai (Star Plus) has been witness to a lot of heartbreak and sadness for its lead characters-Alekh, Sadhna, Ranveer and Ragini. Ranveer was put behind bars on the basis of Sadhna’s testimony. Ragini miscarried upon the news and as a result Sadhna was asked to leave the Raichand house. However now that Ranveer has been released from the prison and is back with Ragini, things are set to change for the better. The two main love stories around which the show was based are back in focus once again.

Ragini is severely depressed and does not want to entertain any thoughts of reconciliation with her beloved sister Sadhna. She asks Ranveer to promise her that he will not try to contact Sadhna and seek to mend broken bridges. Ranveer understands and appreciates Ragini’s fragile mental state. But he is also aware that the only person who can help him help his wife is the one person that he is not allowed to meet-Sadhna. For the sake of Ragini’s well being, he breaks his promise to his wife and decides to meet up with Sadhna. A concerned Sadhna tells Ranveer that he should take Ragini to the dance school as dance is the latter’s first love and the thing that brought the couple together. Ranveer follows this sane advice and takes his wife to the dance school and Ragini rediscovers her forgotten passion for dance. She dances with gay abandon forgetting her worries and concerns.

In the meanwhile, Sadhna has become back to her maternal uncle’s house after being disowned by her husband and his family. She realises Alekh needs time and space to understand and respect her one act that put his brother behind bars. She decides to take up a job in the same company where her uncle works and is hired as a personal assistant. Call it fate or call it destiny, but she finds herself face to face with her husband, working as his employee. Alekh has been trying his best to avoid face-to-face situations with his wife as that would force him to answer a lot of unanswered questions to his own self. This new development forces the ‘much-in-love’ duo to work side-by-side on a regular basis. Whether this will help the Alekh-Sadhna love story to grow and mature; only time will tell. However for the viewers it spells more romantic evenings where we can get to enjoy two of the most successful pairs of Hindi serials in recent times. As audiences can we ask for anything more?

Sadhana’s Dilema - Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai

In life we all have had to stand at cross roads where it has been a toss up between our emotions and our principles. Indeed the biggest struggle is that which takes place inside your own self. Which road to follow-to stand by what you believe in or to believe in the person who stands by you, has to be one of the toughest decisions to make. Sadhna ( Bidaai) had to stand at such a cross road some time back. It was a toss up between staying true to her own principles and values or protecting the ones she loved more than her life. At the end she decided to stay true to herself and to take the side of truth. However this choice of hers put her brother-in-law, Ranveer, to prison.

With Ranveer in prison, her close relations turned against her, holding her responsible for the formers plight. Be it her indomitable mother-in-law Vasundhara or her loving husband Alekh who loved her dearly; everyone is upset at her choice. Her cousin sister and Ranveer’s wife Ragini too feels upset over her choice. She miscarries and this adds to her growing resentment against Sadhna whom she had loved and protected against a lot of heartache. Sadhna is asked to leave her in-laws house and she moves back in with her maternal uncle and his family. In her Mama’s (Uncle) family too no one except her uncle is willing to understand her or appreciate her choice.

Ranveer however is released from prison and he comes home much to the joy of all his loved ones. Strangely enough it is Ranveer who is outraged by the actions of his family members. Despite being the person who had to suffer the most the consequence of Sadhna’s actions, he is the one who is able to appreciate Sadhna’s dilemma. On the one hand it is taught to us from childhood to remain truthful no matter what the repercussions are; on the other hand those who take the side of truth are always shown to pay a heavy price. Sadhna has had to pay a heavy price for holding on to her notion of right and wrong. She has lost her home, her family and her love. Whether time and destiny is able to restore all that is lost to her and reward her for her fortitude remains to be seen. Surely such an exemplary act of courage needs to be lauded and appreciated by one and all.

Sadhana kicked out of the house in Bidaai

Finally, it happened. Hindi TV serials are pretty well known for trying to twist stories, and for showing a lot of bad things happening before things get better. They seem to live up to the saying, "If you do a good deed, you will get punished". So it is with Sadhana, who only states the truth when she is asked the question in court. When the trial of Ranveer is ongoing, the final question is when Sadhana is asked to testify and she states the truth. As a result, Ranveer is sentenced to an year's jail term.
However, this has a lot of repercussions. Sadhana is blamed by everyone for doing this to Ranveer, with Vasu turning her out of the house. Alekh also blames her for this and does not stand by her, even though he does love her. In her own house also, her mami of course does not support her and blames her for whatever is happening; and this is troubled by the fact that Ragini was pregnant, and lost her baby due to the shock.
In all this, the only person who stands by Sadhana is her mamaji, who lays down the law in the house that Sadhana will stay there, and no one will say anything to her.

Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai, Ranveer in lots of trouble

When everything else seems to be going right for the serial and the characters, then there is a need to add complexities to the story and turn it around. As a part of this, in the serial, when everything seemed to be going fine, you either add some new villainous characters to the scene or change the circumstances, and that is what they have done in Bidaai.
First they added a daadi-bua who does not like Vasu at all and who seeks to play people against one another, and then complicated matters by adding a deadly case. Just when Daadi-Bua seemed to be pushing Ragini and Sadhana against each other by implying that their husbands were being treated distinctly, came a case whereby some hoodlums were troubling Sadhana, and then Ranveer assaulted one of them very severely.
As a result, the hoodlum is very critically injured, and Ranveer is now in jail, and now Sadhana has to either speak the truth and see Ranveer get a long jail term, or she has to lie if she wants to retain her relationships, especially with Ragini. Ranveer is being prosecuted by a lawyer who has not lost a case, and he promises to get a long term for Ranveer.

Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai, reveals the secret

Alekh in Bidaai on Star Plus has always be shown to be in great turmoil. When he was much younger, he had witnessed the death of his grand-father, and that incident had badly shaken him, to the extent that anybody would have mistaken him for a mad man. So, when Sadhana marries him, she spends her time and effort trying to make him better, and a lot of her efforts seem to be succeeding. She does this inspite of the best efforts of her mother-in-law who does not trust anybody else in the case of Alekh, and slowly starts to discover that somebody is deliberately doing actions that seems to worsen Alekh's problems.
Ranbir also starts showing strange behavior, as if he no longer cares for people, and for his brother, but after a confrontation with Sadhana, he reveals that he is doing all this as part of a drama so that he can find out who is trying to scare Alekh, and wreck his life. Together, they try to make Alekh face events of the past so that they can find out who is the one who is doing this. The other family members really don't like this or appreciate it.
And then the episode happens where Alekh remembers all that happens, and surprisingly, accuses Ambika of being behind all this, and also of having killed his grand-father. Ambika finally accepts that she has done all this, and it is her envy of Vasu that caused her to do all this.

Bidaai on Star Plus - starting to reveal why Alekh is like this

Till now, Bidaai has focused on the condition of Sadhana, and then the romance between Ranveer and Ragini. It is only when the marriage has happened, that the story again focuses back on sadhana, and Alekh. Alekh's mom, Vasu is arrogant as usual, ready to scream at Sadhana if she sees anything happening to Alekh. Sadhana sheds a lot of tears everytime this happens, but is unable to say anything much to Vasu. Alekh however is not happy whenever this happened, and screams at Vasu whenever she is rude to Sadhana.
At the same time, there is an increased focus on trying to figure out what was it caused Alekh to turn this way, what was the events that caused his mind to become retarded. Slowly, you start to get some indications, with rose smell and the photo of his grandfather causing him to have violent reactions. Both Mamaji and Ranveer want to figure out what happened.
Further, Alekh's childhood friend, Shlok is also present in the Sharma house, and both in the Rajvansh house and in the Sharma house, there is an attempt to remember the happenings of the time when Dadaji died due to a heart attack and Alekh turned mad. As yet, there is no connection as to how roses came into the picture, and why Alekh turns violent whenever roses are there in the picture. Mamaji fights with Vasu over getting Shlok to help in the treatment of Alekh, since Vasu has assigned another doctor to help Alekh, and does not want Shlok to be in the picture.

Bidaai .. the marriage happens

Finally, the long pending marriage of Ranveer and Ragini happens (and happens inspite of Vasundhara feeling that her son is marrying a girl not very suitable for him, with Ragini's family being poor, and Ragini herself being dark). In fact, Vasundhara was so apprehensive of negative problems comments against her daughter-in-law that she cooked up an excuse to get the marriage reception cancelled, and sent ranveer and Ragini off to a honeymoon in Kerala. However, at the same time, Alekh, in the midst of emotional upheaval over the status of his marriage with Sadhana (he sees the festivities associated with the marriage and wonders why his marriage was so barren, and why there was no honeymoon in his case), makes it clear that he also wants to go to Kerala along with Ranveer and Ragini.
Vasu agrees and sends off Alekh and Sadhana as well (and Sadhana's Mami is not happy about this since she feels that this will only disturb the honeymoon of Ranveer and Ragini). However, given Alekh's condition, no one can truly refuse him, and so off they go to Kerala. Back in the city, Sadhana's brother Vinu is made to the same level as Naveen, which makes Naveen and Avni mad, and they are scheming about how to make Vinu Sharma pay for this insult.

Sapna Babul Ka..Bidaa on Star Plus

Bidaai, the story of 2 siblings (one of whom is much darker than the others) and their life, is proving to be very popular with viewers. The story is revolving around the trials and tribulations of Ragini and Sadhana. Sadhana is married to Alekh Rajvansh (who is mentally abnormal); slowly Alekh, under Sadhana's loving care is getting better. Part of the agreement for the marriage between Sadhana and Alekh was that Alekh's mother, the arrogant and imperious Vasundhra Rajvansh would get her younger son Ranveer married to Sadhana's darker (and hence less appealing) sister Ragini. However, Vasundhra never really was comfortable with this arrangement and tried her level best to make sure that Ranveer would never get close to Ragini.
In the end, it was the total rebellion by her family (her husband, Indrajit; her elder son Alekh, her younger son Ranveer who now loves Ragini, and the others in her family as well). In the Rajvansh household, there are also the next generation crooked couple, Navin and Avni who have already tried to steal money out of the business and almost managed to implicate Sadhana's brother Vinu brother in a case for which the police comes to arrest them.
The situation now is that Navin and Avni are in disgrace since their attempt to steal money and blame Vinu became known. Vasundhra has finally agreed to get Ragini married to her son Ranveer, even though she knows that their social positions are very different (and for which a number of people would keep on reminding her about), she is also aware that Ragini is apparently much darker and considered not so good-looking (and that people would wonder as to why Vasundhra is getting her son married to a girl who may not be considered to so suitable for him). Now, the plans for marriage are happening, and one can be sure that there will be a lot of drama before the marriage happens.
