Something very strange is ongoing in the serial right now, especially when it comes to the right of women. Arushi marries Shakti when Shakti is already married to Kesar, and under the Hindu marriage code, Shakti cannot marry a second time when his first wife is alive. Pratigya and Krishna have been protesting this for quite some time, but have not managed to persuade any of the other family members, Shakti, SS, or Amma that what is happening is wrong. Instead, Krishna is criticized by all of them for turning over to the other side and only supporting his own wife.
And a new issue crops up when Arushi realizes that what she has done is wrong, that Pratigya was trying to help her and that she made a mistake by marrying Shakti in anger. She wants to change things, and seek the support of her family who have disowned her ever since she married Shakti. She manages to escape and goes along with Krishna and Pratigya back to her father's house who finally accepts her back. However, Shakti and Sajjan Singh come there, and using a gun, force Arushi to go back with them. Shyamji and Adarsh head to SS's house and lodge a complaint with the police and an inspector comes with them. After much coaxing, SS finally gets Amma to get Arushi from the room inside, and Arushi wants to leave. However, when the inspector finds out that Arushi had married out of her own choice and has not suffered any harm, he does not care that she wants to leave and tells her that she has to remain there. A strange action on behalf of the police.
Shakti is getting in a bad state, wanting to take Arushi, and is talking about killing Kesar so that he has only one wife, and that is Arushi.

Hindi TV Serial - Na Aana Is Des Ladoo - Sia suffering from the acts taken by Ammaji
The serial is going through a state of confrontation. The serial also some change in the relationships in the house, where there was a state of confrontation between Sunheri and Ganjendra. Sunheri had always supported Gajji in all his machinations, but she saw his bad side when he was under prosecution for the rape and murder of a maid. He got free from the court action due to the policies of Ammaji, but had to face some tough times from his own wife Sunheri; and Gajendra was unable to take these questions and turned brutal on Sunheri, beating her and then raping his own wife.
Sunheri went into shock at all this, and was supported by the ladies of the house, including Sia. It was Sia who taught her to fight for her rights, and finally Sunheri decide to go against Gajendra in court, to prosecute him for his rape and brutal beating of her. Ammaji and her elder son were totally against this, and Raghav was supportive of Sia and her fight. Finally in court, it was the decision that Ammaji could not stomach, and inspite of all her attempts, the court agreed with the need to punish Gajendra and sentenced him to a 7 year prison sentence. This was something that left Ammaji with very few supporters, with Raghav now against her, and then Gajendra in prison.
Finally, Ammaji played her role, calling a village panchayat where she criticized Sia for carrying a female child against the policies of the village and asked for Sia to get an abortion, something that Sia refused; at which stones were thrown against her until Raghav managed to rescue her. Ammaji did more attempts on Sia, at which Raghav is finally in open protest, and tells Ammaji that he will bring down the haveli if something happens to Sia.

Hindi TV Serial - Bandini - Santu realizes the truth about Megha, comes back to challenge her and take her place back
The show is getting real weird. It keeps on showing the central character of Santu suffering problems (sometimes of her own making, including when she believes anything without adequate proof, and consequently, suffers later) and then overcoming them over a period of time. The current situation in the show is something similar.
Around 6 months back, the show suffered a major problem when there was shown to be a past relationship between DM and Megha, with DNA tests showing that Vishal was the son of DM (even though DM denied that there was ever a relationship between him and Megha). When Santu sees this, she breaks up with DM and wants DM to give Vishal his due as well as the proper rights for Megha (although by her logic, Santu should continue to be the one who should get the most rights from DM).
However, even when DM goes to get her back, Santu refuses to go back, and then, based on the perception that people may feel wrong about DM and Megha, DM agrees to marry Megha. And then it happens. Santu comes across some evidence that indicated that there is a lot of wrong in the claims made by Megha, and comes back to confront Megha. However, the evidence that she had is no longer available, most likely taken by Megha.
Now, the family is against her, and DM also is not in her favor, but Santu is used to such odds in the past. Megha is conspiring with Motiben to cause lots of problems for Santu, and now, there are rumours that the show may go in for another time shift in the future. If something like that happens, then it would seem really odd.

Hindi TV Serial - Na Aana Is Des Ladoo - Sia and Raghav break away from Ammaji, with Sia also standing for elections
A whole lot of drama in the last few weeks; for some time now, there has been lot of feedback that the original theme of Sia standing up to Ammaji, and protesting against what she does to women's rights has got thwarted and badly watered down. Sia would seem totally submissive to Ammaji, and it was left to others to raise the banner of revolt against Ammaji, with Ammaji's own daughter Amba doing the same. However, Ammaji managed to overcome all these challengers, and remained supreme.
Now, the show is back to a contest between Sia and Ammaji, over the case of Gajendra attempting to rape the maid Gunja, and killing her in the process. Sia gets the truth out of Gaji by scaring him at night (but the others do not know this). Ammaji does not approve of Sia claiming that Gaji is guilty and starts to take measures to protest his innocence. In the court case against Gaji, the former lover of Gunja is forced to claim that Gunja was of loose character, anything to ensure that nothing happens to Gaji.
Sia is forced to take a stand against Ammaji, including fighting the elections against her, with Raghav standing by her side. Ammaji throws them out of the house, and then Jogi decides to take steps against Sia, including sending his men to kidnap her. She does get kidnapped, which enrages Raghav, enough that he challenges Ammaji directly. However, it was not Jogi's men who had kidnapped her. Sia manages to escape the kidnappers, although she was in danger of getting raped by them. This now poses a bigger challenge to Ammaji, since it is feared that this will make people emotionally in favor of Sia.

Hindi TV Serial - Laagi Tujhse Lagan on Colors - Dutta and Nakusha go down in a cliff in their vehicle, safe, and romantic
Things keep on moving fast in this serial. Soon after Nakku proved herself in the eyes of Dutta by saving him from the goons of Anna at the temple, he decided that no matter what she was supposed to have done in the past, she has absolved herself of the supposed crime of betraying him by helping Supriya escape, and as a result, she should consider herself free of the punishment that he levied. However, Nakusha has always loved Dutta, and can never think of leaving him, but Dutta is now going to leave her to the city, along with her mother and Sethji (along with his trusted lieutant).
On the way, Dutta is somewhat lacking in concentration, and his car heads straight towards a cliff. The terrain is muddy, and slippery, and it seems very difficult to get the vehicle to stop from going over the cliff. Everybody else gets off from the vehicle, but Nakku refuses, saying now that she will stop listening to the orders of Dutta, and she will stay with him. And finally, the vehicle does go over the cliff, with both of them being injured and thrown about.
And Anna's men are after them, with both of them trying to remain hidden, and being chased by Anna's men. At the same time, Naku is unsure about when to reveal to Dutta that she is actually fair in color, something that makes her very attractive. In the meantime, back in the house, there is a lot of shock at the probability that Dutta and Nakku could have died in the crash; and then the purohit of the family says that Dutta is probably alive, due to the presence of a person whose name starts with 'N'.

Hindi TV Serial - Baat Hamari Pakki Hain - A new serial on Sony TV about the search for a groom
The search for a groom is one of the biggest events in the life of a girl in rural and semi-urban India (now becoming less so in urban India, especially the metros). It can be humiliating for a girl to go through this hunt, especially since she is supposed to remain submissive and quiet during this entire process, and when she gets blamed for not finding an eligible groom (even though there can be many different reasons). A lot of modern girls would find the concepts shown in this serial as something that they could not accept, especially the thought of being subjected to medical tests to determine that they are fertile, being paraded in front of a series of boys, and so on.
The serial is a fairly new serial, started on Sony Entertainment Television on May 31, 2010. The story tells the story of the hunt for a groom for Sachi, whose parents are no longer alive, and she lives with her Mama and Mami (maternal uncle and aunt). The quest of her aunt is to get Sachi married off, and it seems like that this is the only quest that the household now has, and Sachi does whatever she is told to do, being a dutiful girl (no matter what the humiliation that she has to face, especially when the relationship is not happening and she gets the blame for that). The story is set in a small hill station, Mount Abu, in the state of Rajasthan.
What will happen to Sachi ? Will the quest for marriage finally result in her getting a groom ? Will Shravan be the one who will bring her a happy relationship, or is she not destined for any happiness ?

Hindi TV Serial - Na Aana Iss Des Ladoo - Has Ammaji really got transformed after learning that Amba is her own daughter
Is there really a transformatation in Ammaji after she got to learn that Amba is her own daughter ? It is hard to believe that somebody as strong willed as Ammaji will not have the capacity to withstand shocks, but it would seem that the makers of the serial are trying to show that maybe she can also change over a period of time. In this case, Ammaji spent a lot of time tracking down who Amba is, what are her origins, and finally tracked down the Daima of Amba, somebody known to her. This was the same Daima to whom Ammaji had handed over Amba soon after she was born; and this was the same Daima who told Amba later about how Ammaji was her real mother and had handed her over after she was born; thus causing a huge amount of hatred to be formed in Amba against Ammaji.
Now, Ammaji has got to know about Amba, and this is causing a huge amount of emotional turmoil in her; she now understands why Amba hates her; but is there a real change of heart ? That one cannot be sure, and it is doubtful whether anyone knows. The makers of the serial can change the situation anytime, say for example, a couple of weeks later, they can show that this transformation was fake and was meant to find out all those in the household who were supportive of Amba.
For now, Ammaji is trying to be supportive of Amba to some degree, so that when Jogi comes to say something that is against Amba, Ammaji scolds him and sends him away, she tries to act more supportive of Amba; and also comes into view Amba when Amba is sleeping, with the makers of the serial showing her giving a tender look. However, by now Amba refuses to believe that Ammaji can transform in any way; and has sworn to teach the oppressed women of the household how to speak up for themselves and protect their rights; starting with Sia.

Hindi TV Serial - Na Aana Is Des Ladoo - Ammaji trying to turn Samar away from Amba, while Amba trying to change things in the haveli
Ever since Amba kidnapped Raghav and keeps him away, she is staying in Ammaji's haveli and trying to change things in the haveli. And Amba seems to have an old problem with Ammaji, and trying to level the scores a bit. Also, seeing how she is, the women in the household who have had a problem with Ammaji such as Sia and Santosh are starting to support her, to the extent that Santosh replies back to Jogi and claims that he will be set right by Amba (and then Jogi dreams about when Raghav is found, and then he will take his revenge against both Amba, and then Santosh).
Other ladies in the house such as Rangeeli who used to misbehave with the others worry about the reaction from Amba to their normal behavior; such as when Amba sentences Rangeeli to starve for a day for misbehaving with Santosh; and then when Rangeeli tries to mix something in the juice that Amba was supposed to drink, she gets caught and has to do 200 situps.
One of Amba's men, Samar, is susceptible to the influence by Ammaji, more so when Ammaji plies with sweets and special drinks, and also plays up to him by claiming that such a powerful man should not be under the influence of a woman leader and should have his own gang. Samar comes under this influence, and seems to start supporting Ammaji, promising her that he would help her by taking Ammaji and her men to save Raghav. However, Amba is suspicious that Samar is falling under the influence of Ammaji and may be close to becoming a traitor.
Now, the basic issue is whether Amba will be able to stay ahead of Ammaji, ensure that Raghav does not run away from his captivity, and that she is able to change the way things are running in the haveli.

Hindi TV Serial - Na Aana Iss Des Ladoo - Ammaji and the gang who have held Raghav custody
In Na Aana Iss Des Ladoo, is Ammaji meeting somebody who can be as ruthless as her ? Ammaji runs the house and village with an iron hand, including killing baby girls, punishing people if they go against her, and so on. She even went to the extent of sending a lady from the village to the District Magistrate to satisfy his desires to save herself from the push that he was making against her. And now, in the midst of her effort to prove that she is the leader, she is facing somebody who can be quite ruthless like her.
In the midst of a horse race, Ammaji is sought to be kidnapped by a gang of dacoits. She manages to escape this effort, but soon after, her son Raghav is kidnapped when he is going to report this to the police. This causes a huge amount of consternation in the house, with Sia being very distressed, and Ammaji spewing fire at the people who could dare do something like this.
And now, when Raghav has been captured, Ammaji is called by the dacoits to hear their demands, being called alone. She does carry a pistol, but does not get much of a chance to use it, since Raghav is in custody.
The matter is that the gang of dacoits is being chased by the police, and they want their leader Amba to get safety in Ammaji's haveli for some time. Ammaji really does not like this, but when the safety of Raghav is at stake, then there is no question of not accepting the demands. She fumes over the treatment she will accord to the dacoits once Raghav is safe, but till that time, she has to do whatever they say.

Hindi TV Serial - Na Aana Iss Des Ladoo - Ammaji attacked during the horse race by some people in black
Santosh is in real trouble. After trying to run away, she is brought back by Ammaji's men who also kill her relative (but not before Santosh has already met another man). When she is brought back to the house, Ammaji insists on the same thing, that Raghav will be the one who will have physical relations with Santosh so that she can have a baby and there will be no question marks on Jogi after that (it's very simplistic to assume that one night of physical relations would result in pregnancy, that too when the situation is very emotionally traumatic). However, Raghav, even though he knew that he never would do such a thing to his bhabhi, agrees to Ammaji and decides to go to Santosh's room. At this, Sia and the other female members of the house are shocked. However, Raghav becomes fully drunk and later tells Santosh that he would never think of touching her, and in the morning, Santosh also tells Sia that everything is fine and that they did not do anything (but at the same time, telling Ammaji that it had happened).
Soon after, Ammaji decides to take part in the horse race, since that is a matter of great pride for her that she is able to defeat the men in the village in the horse race and is shadowed by her men to ensure her safety. However, there are some people in black who are also pursuing her (a new twist in the story), and when Ammaji is in the lead, a rider in black tries to capture Ammaji (at which Raghav manages to save her). In the next, they show a whole gang discussing about how to capture Ammaji, and otherwise trying to capture her children. When Raghav goes to file a report in the police station, he is indeed captured by the same gang, something that shocks the entire household. Now what will happen ?

Hindi Serial - Uttaran - Vansh gets to know the truth about Veer and Ichcha before he can go to the mandap
Uttaran is dragging the situation of Vansh's marriage and romance with Ichcha a lot; Ichcha was ready to sacrifice her love of Veer since Vansh was truly and deeply in love with Ichcha, and this was a way for him to get reformed from his drug-taking habit. Veer was also ready to do anything since this was a way for Veer to get reformed, and the pressure from his mother was also another reason for him to agree to this relationship, even though this meant that he will have to give up Ichcha and reconcile to a marriage with Tapasya.
In the meantime, Tapasya is doing anything possible to ensure that Ichcha suffers as she has suffered; part of her plan is to ensure that once Vansh is married to Ichcha, he will get to know the past of Veer and Ichcha, and this will ensure that the married life of Ichcha is as miserable as her married life is (and by now everybody knows that Tapasya can be the biggest villain, willing to do anything to further her own selfish ends).
However, in this case, things go wrong from Tapasya's calculation. Once Vansh sees the photos of Veer and Ichcha, he is shocked by the past history of the two, and refuses to go down for the wedding. Tapasya and her nani are shocked by this, since if Vansh does not marry Ichcha, then Veer will be free to pursue Ichcha again, something that Tappu does not want. Both of them try their best to persuade Vansh that all this was the past, that they have all moved on and that Tapasya is happily married to Veer, that Ichcha is doing all this for Vansh and will be deeply hurt if he refuses. They also try to play on his pride by telling that if he refuses now, everybody will wonder how true his love actually was. However, it is not clear right now whether Vansh will go ahead with the marriage.

Hindi Serial - Sony - Godh bharai - the story of a childless couple, especially the woman
Indian society can be very cruel to those who do not fit in so easily, and a person who deserves sympathy can instead be treated with a lot of scorn. So, it seems with the concept of a married woman who has not had a child even several years after marriage, and is the case of the heroine, Aastha, of a new serial on Sony TV, called Godh Bharai. This is a serial that has recently started on Sony TV (although it was advertised for many weeks before the show, to the extent that people were sick and tired of the ad appearing on every break on the serial), started on March 8, 2010. The advertisement was depicting the concept of a lady who goes to a godh-bharai ceremony where the other ladies look at her with scorn since she is not a mother, believing her presence to be inauspicious to such a ceremony.
And when it comes her turn to felicitate the bride, she is stopped by the elders and told to leave from there, since she is a 'baanj', a barren woman. She also has to bear scorn within her own family over this; however, when she gets a checkup done, it turns out that she is fine, and most likely the problem is with her husband. And instead of taking the help of medical treatment to treat infertility, she wants to the play the sacrificial wife and hide the inability of her husband to give her a child and is willing to take the pain of being labeled a barren woman just so that her husband does not have to bear this emotional burden. The principal characters of the serial are:
Pallavi Subhash ... Aastha
Shakti Anand ... Shivam Agnihotri
Ravindra Mankani ... Ramakant Agnihotri (Shivam's father)
Mangal Kenkre ... Bhagyashree Agnihotri (Shivam's mother)

Hindi Serial - Jyoti - Has Brij started blackmailing Bhairavi at the time of Pankaj's marriage ?
The serial Jyoti on NDTV Imagine has started getting more interesting. Till now it was that Jyoti used to listen to the various speeches given to her by many people, primarily Bhairavi (also known as CM) in silence, choosing to cry silently. However, in the recent past, she had started replying to Bhairavi when she would come across some injustice. And now things have got even more interesting. Bhairavi has planned the second marriage of Pankaj (after Jyoti decided to agree to lie in a document so as to allow him to get divorced earlier), and Sudha is now not cooperating with her too much (and her husband Uday will typically support her in all this).
What has made the situation much more interesting is the emergence of Brij from jail. After coming out of jail, he explained that he had no more interest in either Jyoti or Sushma, since both of them were poor and there was no benefit in trying to get anything out of them. Instead he heads to the house of Pankaj, which is when Bhairavi gets scared when she sees Brij over there. She does not know what the motive of Brij to be there could be, but given that they had an arrangement in the past to get Jyoti out of the house and out of the marriage with Pankaj, it was quite clear that Brij knew things that Bhairavi would not want Pankaj to know.
So, most likely we are going to see Brij starting to blackmail Bhairavi because of the knowledge he has, and in a matter of coincidence, Jyoti will also be there at the function (something that Bhairavi is deeply distressed by). And the final coincidence will be when the intended bride of Pankaj, Neelam, will be late turning up for the marriage. The next couple of episodes should be interesting. And there is the budding romance between Jyoti and Kabir, one wonders where that romance will go.

Hindi Serial - Na Aana Is Des Ladoo - Ammaji comes up with a horrid scheme to get a heir
The serial on Colors is plumbing new depths, showing the extent to which Ammaji will go to; the show also depicts problems in the relationships between different family members, including between a husband and wife. In Ammaji's household, the relation between Joginder and his wife Santosh is very fragile, especially since Jogi is unable to give a child to Santosh. However, it is Santosh who has to bear the blame for everything, for being unable to have a child. In the society depicted in the serial, being blamed as barren is very painful for a married lady; and she faces that both inside and outside the house. One day, when taunted by one of her sister-in-laws, she cannot bear the frustration anymore, and claims in front of other people that she is not the one to blame, it is her husband. For this, she is beaten badly by Ammaji, and Jogi also does not support her (he is very angry at her for revealing the truth about him).
And then since Ammaji has started realizing that the village knows the truth and that the respect for the household will be gone, she has to figure out a solution. And then she comes up with a truly horrible (and yet seemingly practical) solution. She tells Santosh that she will have to sleep with a stranger so that she can get pregnant, and then she can then claim before the villagers that there was some treatment given to Jogi, and as a result, Santosh is pregnant, and will give birth to a heir.
Santosh refuses, but to refuse Ammaji something is not a very practical point, and Santosh is told that she will have to do this. Jogi is also persuaded by Ammaji on this. And then Ammaji throws another bombshell, claiming that this will not be a stranger, instead Raghav will have to do this. Raghav refuses, and Ammaji tries all sort of blackmail, including emotional blackmail. Finally, Sia and the others hide Santosh, with Raghav proposing that they will send her away to her brothers house.

Hindi Serial - Pratigya on Star Plus - Pratigya fighting Krishna even though she agreed to get married
Pratigya is a disappointment of sorts in terms of depicting how a girl withstands harassment. Here you have a spirited girl in a conservative city, fighting off the advances of a person, whom she does not like. You would normally expect the boy to get the message, but in this case Krishna is so madly in love with Pratigya that he does not care for her wishes, and loves her very passionately. As a result, he is willing to apply any amount of force to obtain her, and finally applies so much pressure on her and her family that they finally got married. However, Pratigya still hates Krishna, something that he cannot understand. For him, whatever he wants, he gets; and this is also supported by his father and family who also believe in the rights of the man to whatever he wants.
Finally, when she is married to Krishna, she makes her hatred clear to him and does not let him touch her, starting from the wedding night. However, at the same time, Krishna slowly starts to feel compassion for her, enough though he cannot understand this hatred and repulsion that Pratigya feels for him. And then the overall situation in his house is also something that she is not comfortable with, since she is from a house where daughters have all the rights of education freedom, etc; something that is certainly not the case in Krishna's house.
And then another major confrontation with his family starts. Krishna's father proposes that Pratigya adopt a new name, something that she refuses point blank. This shocks him, since the assumption is that anything he says is a command that needs to be obeyed, and how the new bahu of the house can refuse is a huge shock. However, Krishna supports her and says that if she does not want a new name, then the discussion is over.
What is disappointing in the serial is how it depicts the case of harassment, where a girl in modern India is forced to buckle down and marry the person who is harassing her; and instead of being able to stand up for her rights, she marries him, something that could be the end of her freedom and right to live as she likes.

Hindi Serial - Bidaai - Alekh gets to know the truth about Sadhana and leaves his mother
Things finally seem to be looking up for Alekh and Sadhana. Vasu had tried her best to ensure that Sadhana was out of the life of Alekh, by giving her Rs. 5 lakh to sign the divorce papers for her divorce from Alekh, along with the condition that Sadhana would not talk about this to anyone. And since Sadhana then refused to tell Alekh about this, Alekh in turn was angry with Sadhana, angry enough that he was ready to get divorced and marry Mallika (who Vasu wanted to get married to Alekh). In the midst of all this, Ragini got the shock of her life when she got to hear of everything that Sadhana had done, and she went ahead and told her own family all about this. And so there was a plan made to get Vasu to reveal all this to Alekh so that he would finally believe that Sadhana was the correct one, and that Vasu was the one who was driving everything.
So, in the engagement party of Alekh and Mallika, before the actual engagement could happen, Sadhana's mamiji, who had resolved to do everything to ensure that Sadhana and Alekh get back together, goes to the party, and after first starting off things on a very polite and friendly note, confronts Vasu about her role in the divorce. Finally, they are able to provoke Vasu to the extent that she reveals all about her role in ensuring that Sadhana was forced to sign the divorce papers. When Alekh hears this, he is upset, and wants to go and get his wife, Sadhana back (he was always in love with her, but was angry about why she was willing to divorce him, and not tell him the actual reasons). Vasu states that she will not let Sadhana get back into the house, at which Alekh says that he will not let anything come between him and Sadhana. Finally Sadhana seems to be heading for happiness.

Hindi Serial - Bandini - Santu on a more aggressive nature, but her own sister gets caught
Santu returned to the home after spending her 10 years in jail (the 10 years in jail for a murder that she did not commit), and realized that the house had been divided in her absence, with a line drawn through the center. At the time of her trial, her sister Khemi was totally against her because she was convicted of the murder of Khemi's husband Arjan, and she also set a condition with DM that if DM wanted her to not abort Arjan's baby, he would not take any steps towards fighting Santu's case. Based on this request, and shocked by it, Dharamraj cut off all links with his family and business, staying in the house but no longer involved in any decisions (this was a very strange decision, and given that he is a moral decision maker, this was not something that he should have done).
Now that Santu is back, she wanted the divisions in the house to get over, and one way was to get all the house people against her and with each other; she seems to be succeeding in that. The other quest that she had was to get DM back involved in the family, and also protect the family against their own internal divisions. Part of that was to ensure that people accounted for their misdeeds and accounted for all the money that they took from the treasury, and for that, she took control of the house safe by claiming that DM had once given her a Power of Attorney. This was a side of Santu that nobody had ever seen, and they were very confused; even more so since she made it seem that she was after the money.
One of the quests for her was to find out who was trying to get rid of Toral's unborn baby by poisoning her, and it was very shocking for her when her own sister, Monghi was accused of the crime. Santu laid a trap and found out that it was Khemi (again her own sister) who was accused of the crime, and Khemi was doing it to ensure the complete rights of her own son, Krishna.

Hindi Serial Written Update - Bairi Piya - Amoli escapes the Thakur, but will she managed to hide
This show depicts the otherwise amiable and likable Sharad as the worst form of villain, a villain who uses his power in the poor rural sections of India to exploit their workers, women and get whatever they want. They are the local power, there is no such thing as the local police, law and justice, since all these are dependent on the power of the Thakur. He can do what he wants, kill somebody without any problem and without anybody interfering with his wished.
So what happens when a poor girl from a poor family becomes his fancy ? He will do whatever is needed to claim her, pressurizing her family, forcing her parents to bend to his will. And it does not matter if he already has a wife; whatever his wife wants does not matter. It does not even matter if his entire family is unhappy with his quest, even if his mother opposes it. He is the local Thakur, and for him, his wish is law.
So, when Amoli is married off to a worker of the Thakur called Radhe, it would seem very easy for the Thakur to get what he wants. In fact, he is so surprised that Amoli has had the temerity to oppose him for so long. Even this dedication to her husband Radhe surprised the Thakur, even more so since Radhe is the servant of the Thakur. And then the Thakur decides to take matters further, by forcefully marrying Amoli to make her his second wife. For this, he decides that Radhe is only a interference, and finally kills off Radhe. But Amoli manages to escape the Thakur, aided by the Thakur's wife who refuses to support the Thakur in this quest, even though he is very very angry at her.

Na Aana Is Des Ladoo - Ammaji trying other tactics to put a lot of load on Sia after Raghav accepted her
It was a very surprising scene, and not what a lot of fans of Sia would have thought. After all, she had sworn to take revenge against everybody who had mis-treated her and her father, and for that, she had taken up position in Ammaji's house as a servant. And for that, Ammaji, who never trusted her, first made sure that she knew her position very clearly in the house, and treated her exactly like a servant, and not like a daughter-in-law; to the extent that when the DM came to their house for taking one of the ladies for the night, Ammaji put Sia also on display.
And yet, the makers of the serial have shown some stuff that is certainly not part of revenge. Even though Ammaji showed no signs of changing any of her behavior, and remained as evil as ever, Sia saved her life when she was shot by a bullet. And for that, Ammaji had not the slightest amount of gratitude. In fact, Ammaji was planning to get a new daughter-in-law for Raghav, something that he was going through. But it seemed like the ploy that Sia had was to get Raghav won over and respect her as a wife, and he finally accepted her (hardly a mark of revenge, given that Raghav was complicit in many of Ammaji's crimes). It was only when Raghav has accepted her that her status has changed in the household; but even then, Ammaji has not left any chance to still try and get Sia away from Raghav. She managed to persuade Sia not to have a physical relationship with Raghav for 3 months since this has been recommended by the family priest, and then is subjecting Sia to a lot of pressure in the kitchen, making her cook the food for the entire family.

Pratigya - Will she be able to stand up to Krishna’s bullying ways? - Need to show the girl as being more fearless
Pratigya (Star Plus) began with a lot of fanfare and loads of promise. The promos that were telecast on television before the programme began talked of Pratigya as a bold and fearless girl. She was shown standing up to eve teasers, taking to task all those who meant to put her down and being a spirited individual. However the show has yet to live up to that promise as Pratigya is a far cry from what she was portrayed in the promos.
Pratigya is the daughter of an honest college professor who lives by his morals and values. She soon catches the attention of the local ruffian, Krishna, who loses his heart to her. From that day begins her story of grief and humiliation. Krishna is a school drop out who considers himself to be lucky to be born in a family where he has everything and he need not work. His attitude towards women in particular is coarse and he feels that women are merely objects of pleasure and comfort- as long as you give them food; you can treat them the way you want. He treats his mother and all the other women of his family with disdain and nonchalance. He considers himself to be extremely romantic and believes love is just acquiring.
On the other hand Pratigya has been brought up in a household where women are considered equal to men. Her father Shyamji Saxena has given equal opportunities to all his children and has educated them well. Pratigya is allowed to do as she pleases. Unaware of Krishna’s growing obsession with her, she agrees to get engaged to her father’s friend’s son. At the engagement party Krishna turns up with his side kicks and declares to one and all that he and Pratigya are in love. In his selfish, boorish mind this is true as he is unable to comprehend that Pratigya does not love him back. He feels that the girl is bound to love the boy she marries, so it doesn’t count whether she loves him before marriage or not. He believes that anything he does for Pratigya, which includes threatening people and sending her love notes, is because he loves her.
Krishna even beats up Pratigya’s fiancé so gravely that he has to be hospitalized. Her engagement is called off and Pratigya decides to leave town. This too does not suit Krishna and he drags her back to the town. As Krishna weaves dreams of a life with Pratigya, the latter is left paralyzed with shock and helplessness at Krishna’s inability to understand the word “No”. Indeed this is true for a large section of India’s society where boys are made to believe that girls are merely chattels, who are meant to live the way it has been ordained for them by the man in their lives. It is time to change such thoughts and hopefully in the coming days Pratigya will do just that.
